United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice will meet with senators on Capitol Hill Tuesday to answer questions about the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya. CBS News has learned her appearance will include a morning meeting with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who has been among her biggest critics since her initial remarks on the attack.
Rice has come under fire from Republicans for her initial account of the attack five days after it took place, when she suggested that there was no evidence the incident was an act of terrorism. On CBS News' "Face the Nation," in one example, she said the "assessment at present" was that "based on the best information we have to date...it began spontaneously in Benhgazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo, where of course as you know there was a violent protest outside our embassy sparked by this hateful video." She added that "extremist elements" then joined the effort.
The White House later said the assault was a preplanned terror attack, and some Republicans have suggested that they would block Rice's possible nomination to become Secretary of State for her role in what some say was a cover-up by the administration. Rice and her allies said she was merely repeating talking points given to her by the CIA and approved by the wider intelligence community. She said she "made clear that the information was preliminary, and that our investigations would give us the definitive answers."

Pardon my skepticism, but just because I’m paranoid is no proof that they’re not really out to get me!
I predict that they’ll come out of this meeting with NO answers for us rubes out here in flyover country; but claiming that all their questions were answered and all is well.
I would be thrilled to learn that I’m wrong about that, but I don’t think I am. I think these congressmen and senators are so lazy and disinterested that they’ll make a little ruckus, a la John McLame, to make us think they give a d&mn about it, and later, as in this case, accept any line of BS the regime feeds them, just so they can roll over and go back to sleep.
I consider these so-called legislators to be part of the 47% who are on the public dole, and don’t want to make any waves or do anything that might jeopardize that monthly check or their fat lifetime pension!

Yeah, agree. The only thing I have ever heard say that I agree with is “elections have consequences”. This dance is a preview to what’s coming with the next couple of supremes nominations. Republicans will make a bunch of noise up front and then cave....
It looks to me like the office of the DNI, which the CIA reports to, has already been designated to take the fall for Rice's script which was likely drafted by the Obama campaign in Chicago.
Therefore it is puzzling that the acting CIA director (who had nothing to do with her talking points draft lies) would be sent along with Rice (who had nothing to do with Benghazi).
Rice can only tell the senators
1. who gave her the DNI-sourced script and what physical evidence is there of the communication of that script to her (paper, e-mail, phone, etc.)
2. who does she believe is the top person in the DNI who approved the script and is there any evidence to back up her belief
3. prior to going on the Sunday talk shows had she been briefed on the raw or analyzed CIA intelligence on the Benghazi attack and on what days and is there hard copy of her briefing? If not, why not?
5. If she was aware that the DNI script contradicted the CIA after-action reporting, can she prove that she questioned that discrepancy competently, as would be expected of a potential SOS, and explain why she went with the DNI version and her Sunday talk show claim that “in fact this was not a preplanned, premeditated attack”?
Every time I hear about another McCain meeting with Democrats I have this vision of General Umezo surrendering to MacArthur on the deck of the USS Missouri.

I wouldn’t trust Rice taking out the garbage. What the heck kind of answers does McCain expect? He just blowing sunshine up our butts.
McCain has always been a halfwitted tool, so who better to compromise with an incompetent tool on matters of truth?
