The Washington Times ^ | Nov 27, 2012 | Steven Dinan

Saying they want to get the conversation on immigration reform started, top Senate Republicans on Tuesday introduced a version of the so-called “Dream Act” to grant young illegal immigrants legal status in the US, though not giving them a special path to citizenship.

The Republicans have lost the 2016 election.

The RINOs and the Democrats and the Wall Street Journal and the Chamber of Commerce will have their way. It's all over.

Welcome to Nueva America Latina.

it’ll might give a handful of “republicans” an extra 10% of the Latino vote for a single election. Then it’ll be back to whoever has the most handouts.

Saying they want to get the conversation on immigration reform started

Wow... we have never ever ever discussed immigration reform in history, have we?

Amnesty under Reagan was a nightmare. This is going to be 20x worse.

“We are a nation of laws.”

Might as well throw that away. I just want to know which laws I can willingly violate, and then be rewarded for the very thing I was violating.

I think it should be income taxes. I don’t want to pay them.

...and the GOP leadership gleefully listens to RAT talking points and goes two steps better to insure 20 more years of defeat.

Yep, guess I’ll invite the fat welfare momma down the road to drop in and eat the refrigerator and cabinets.

Another issue that the GOP isn’t ‘wedging’ — forcing Dems to give up something to some constituency for another.

I think for this issue I would wedge voter ID laws, and prohibit the non-citizen legal aliens the right to vote and the right to Obamacare, or perhaps disallow any tax deductions.

Make them pay a price for every liberal idea they want to pass.

For those complaining about ‘RINO’ Republicans, the moment (as in moment of mass) has shifted center. You cannot recapture it by going more ‘right’.

Unfortunately we allowed this to get to this point
and we can’t ignore it. There simply are too many of them and they are breeding and sneaking in in record numbers

so what do we do with them?

I say NEVER NEVER EVER let them be citiznes EVER

but we must find a way to make them productive enough that they can pay for themselves.

If we the conservative party just ignore this the Dems will make them citizens and voters

WHAT do we do with them that at least make sure they quit taking bennies and start paying their own way?

On 1st point I agree. If you are going to lose anyway you might as well cause the other side some pain oin the process

On 2nd point the dems did exactly that. They went hard left and look where we are. Our side needs to go further right. Screw the middle.

BS The country is still center “right”
The right lost the election because they failed to get a message out.
A plurality of voters believed the left would be better at lowering taxes. They also had a majority in those who blamed the economy on Bush.
This shows that the right failed to get the truth out. It had absolutely nothing to do with demographics Couple this with voter fraud in key states and you lose the election.
Sorry , but I’m just sick and tired of listening to people like you and your identity politics garbage.
Romney was a disgrace. He failed to attack this loser and he lost.
Funny that the representatives closest to the people remained Republican while the Democrats took the majority of the Federal urban Plantations.
We lost Florida by less than 100,00 votes, in Ohio the Mutt won 14 out of 88 counties. How does this show a trending to a left of center country?
Give me a friggen break.

Let’s get on with it. Give them amnesty. Then we can finally be done with this two party sham.

Complete and utter BS. If the GOP doesn’t want the fight, we create a party that will.

Did you even check the demographics that Obama won in and Romney lost in?

The political spectrum was herded left by womens issues, perceived cuts of entitlements, and class warfare. Unemployment, deficit spending did nothing to impede that.

The GOP needs to start ‘wedging’ the Liberals and force issues regarding labor unions — particularly public sector unions. They need to push for across the board hiring freeze for Federal employees, and in fact even push for downsizing government.

“BS The country is still center “right”

Sorry, just can’t swallow that anymore.

We lost the last TWO elections, and it has much more to do with than just “getting the message out”.

We lost not because we didn’t get the message out.
We lost because of the “message” itself.

Republicans are selling a product that a growing number of Americans just don’t want to “buy” any longer. They’re rather take what the left offers them.

And lately, the left has been “offering” more and more. Figuratively and literally (right down to the free ObamaPhones).

I don’t like it any more than you do.
But stop making excuses as to why the Pubbies lost.

The answer, the reality is there.
It’s just painful to accept, from our side, for obvious reasons.

To do with the future, we have to understand the realities of the present, and go on from there...

Correction:
“We lost the last TWO elections, and it has much more to do with than just “getting the message out”.”

should read:

We lost the last TWO _presidential_ elections, and it has much more to do with than just “getting the message out”.

2010 was a stopgap victory. Let’s see what happens in ‘14. I’m guessing, “mixed results”.
