The free online school of everything has taken on the Illinois pension crisis.

Video Link

This video is from Khan Academy, the heralded online video series that can teach you about algebra, physics or whatever else you want to learn when you have nothing else to do.

Their explanation of pension problems hurting government budgets focuses on Illinois. And it highlights how education funding gets hit when the state has to pay more toward retirement costs.

Sal Khan didn't go so deep to as to explain how public unions rape the American constituency.

He didn't dig deeply enough to expose the problem with public unions.

That said...he did a pretty good job of explaining the trouble we are in.

Hey...Stoopid.;-)

Come over here and learn something.

And good luck to you. Stoopid...really, best of luck.

Dig deep...you'll be better for it.

I honestly believe you can rise above.

I wish Khan had addressed the things that got us into this problem (i.e. the public unions)...but perhaps that will come next.

I will email him and suggest that path.

My Dad worked for 42 years for the same company, once a large one, that went bankrupt not long before he died.As a result his pension dropped dramatically thanks to the Federal agency that insures pensions (can’t recall the name). If he could take such a “haircut” after having made things that people actually wanted (while he was there,at least),government paycheck recipients who spent 10 years sitting around collecting checks can take a haircut too.A big one. That goes for Federal, state, county and municipal.Everyone *except* military retirees.

That bites. All of us that work for Big Business (like myself) fear the same. The agency is PBGC, and they have limits on what they’ll pay out, and it’s generally a bit more than half of what a white collar worker would earn if his company’s plan stayed intact.

I probably could learn something about several subjects - say physics. I rarely post about those subjects precisely because I know little about them. Not knowing anything about a subject apparently doesn’t stop you from posting about it. And I honestly don’t think you can rise above that tendency.

Oh, and thanks for proving me right again. I moved on. You haven’t. You can’t. Just like I said.

Much of what has been promised will never materialize. This nation is about to hit a wall...and it ain’t the fiscal cliff...or at least not THE “fiscal cliff.”

Hey Dood...go back to that link about OCPD.

Seriously, you need to loosen up. It must be a beatch to always have to be right.

What's to move on from. I'm not here to insult you...I'm here to help.

Life is a lot easier than you imagine. It's even fun.

You're welcome BTW...about my proving you right again. But why are you so obsessed with being right?

You carry a heavy burden...all of your own making.;-)

I don’t always have to be right. I just was right - and you were wrong. Why do you have to be wrong so often?

“What’s to move on from. I’m not here to insult you...I’m here to help.”

When you learn to help yourself, let me know.

“Life is a lot easier than you imagine. It’s even fun.”

Oh, I know. You have provided a number of laughs with your posts - especially when you were not even trying to be funny.

“You’re welcome BTW...about my proving you right again. But why are you so obsessed with being right?”

I’m not. I just was right and you were not. That doesn’t seem to be changing either. Why are you so obsessed with making a false claim that I’m obsessed with being right?

“You carry a heavy burden...all of your own making.;-)”

Nope. No burden at all. I knew what I was talking about while you didn’t. The burden seems to be yours. You’re still thinking about it.
