You’ll definitely need to get in touch with your feminine self on that one ~ after all, I”m a Cucinelli fan! No idea how you could come up with criticism in what i said unless you’re from Utah and not used to rough talk among men eh!

Virginia used to be ~ within living memory ~ a one party state ~ and that was the Democrat party.

There are large swatches out there where just about everybody votes like the Confederacy is coming back tomorrow, and Republicans have never had much luck there EXCEPT when they can keep those folks from voting.

This latest election had a bad actor at the top of the list ~ who was embroiled in a corrupt practice when it came to how the primary was handled. Maybe his handlers didn't think he was but we all thought he was ~

Frank Guinta represents all that is unholy and wrong about politics...a prototypical EARTH WHORE, without the benefit of shaved legs or makeup.

That being said, I’d probably also go with him over Sununu, Jr. Sununu Sr.’s bluster tanked any comeback Jr. had. Too bad...Sr. took it to the RATS.

Frankie Guinta HA!
A silly child without charm
Go to the corner

Oh, oh, Jack Vincennes
Gay Spock is your only friend
Demotion sucks, huh?

My post was directed to Captain Jack Aubrey’s post #44 as you should be able to see.

I merely pinged you and several other people.

Also, I am not woman.

Well, we will just have to see, won’t we. (You will be amazed how “mainstream” the media and McAuliffe money make him by November. Remember, Kaine was a radical ACLU type lawyer before he was remade.)

I have no problem with Cuccinelli, and I predict he will not carry Henrico, Chesterfield or Prince William.

Let me rephrase, why do you think Cuccinelli can’t win? (And Boling can?)

Also you can’t “remake” a former DNC chair with tons of shrill comments on national TV as easily as you can a local Mayor. Kaine himself may well have lost if Kerry had won, there seems to be something to this correlation.

But Kaine was the DNC Chair, too. No problem for him.

Cuccinelli is already behind the unknown McAuliffe in the most recent poll, and he has been attorney general for 3 years and a state senator for 6, I think, before that. He doesn’t get any better and neither will his poll numbers.

It will be Governor McAuliffe. Thankfully we don’t allow governors to seek re-election.

Haiku talent, depletes with each passing day
No political appetite, I'm out of my league

Move to Spokane, join the resistance

A steady supply of haircare products with her grenades
A pregnancy, barley puts a hold on well-placed bombings

"I have no problem with Cuccinelli, and I predict he will not carry Henrico, Chesterfield or Prince William."

Cuccinelli carried all 3 in 2009. Henrico: 56%-44%. Prince William: 57-43%. Chesterfield: 66-34%. Now while both Henrico and PW voted for Zero, it would be almost impossible for him to lose Chesterfield (unless he morphed into Jim Gilmore's ugly '08 Senate race).

BTW, the article you presented with a Quinnipiac poll of registered voters showing a 41-37% lead for Terrible Terry McAuliffe is next to worthless. Unless it is of likely voters, such polls can be dismissed out of hand, and they almost inevitably have a Democrat lean. As the article itself pointed out, which I told you, that VA has voted against the incumbent Presidential party every time since 1977.

Virginia also had not voted for a democrat for president since LBJ until the worst president ever. I am even more concerned that registered voters would favor a total unknown at this point. It is really unbelievable.

Gilmore, a great governor, who told the truth to the people, who kept his promises, and was a real conservative got clobbered by a know nothing lying tax hiking Warner. This is exactly what McCauliffe will do to Cuccinelli.

I think you’re unnecessarily panicking. At the time Gilmore ran for Senator, it had been 11 years since he ran a race and the grassroots wasn’t exactly on fire for him. His candidacy ended up a disaster on par with the hapless third tier Black GOP opponent to Chuck Robb in 1988.

It may turn out the federal (Senator/President) will be a tougher nut to crack from now on, if only because of the NOVA gubmint worker parasites who need big government to preserve their jobs. It’s turning into a Baja Maryland, unfortunately. I have family in Loudoun County, and they are not Republicans and are precisely the hordes turning VA the wrong way.

Fortunately, it probably benefits VA having statewide elections separately from federal, or it would be a different story. Unlike Mark Warner, who ran a respectable Senate race prior to his successful Gubernatorial one, Terry McAuliffe’s race in 2009 was a disaster, well underperforming usual Democrat areas. If I were the VA Dems, I wouldn’t want to even run him again. I just do not see any scenario where Cuccinelli loses (short of Bolling pulling a John Hager after his sour grapes loss to Earley in 2001, which was largely how Mark Warner won in the first place).

Didn’t they try to portray McDonnell as a fringe kook when his college thesis came up during the campaign? No one says they wouldn’t try to bag Cooch anyway, but who says he couldn’t overcome it? (and Allen, arguably, could have overcome the Macaca thing if not for his bad response to it)

I mostly agree with everything you say. I have been in Va. Politics since 1969 with Holton/Obenshain. And I have a bad feeling about this one. (And I thought Romney would carry Va by 8 points.)

Well, the question is how has he done so far? Because they have been trying like mad to ruin him, and they have been very successful . He has been on the losing side in every battle for the last three years, as far as the “undecided” voter is concerned.
