Exclusive: Feinstein commissioned report on housing Gitmo detainees in US
Fox News ^ | November 28, 2012 | Catherine Herridge

The Democratic chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence committee has commissioned a federal report to identify prison facilities in the U.S. that are suitable for housing Guantanamo detainees, a document exclusively reviewed by Fox News shows.

In the internal document, the Government Accountability Office refers to “Source of Work: Ms. Dianne Feinstein, Chair, Select Committee on Intelligence, U.S. Senate” and lists the “Gist of Work” as an investigation into whether domestic facilities could house the approximately 170 detainees remaining at the controversial facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Two hours after Fox News' inquiry about the report, Feinstein's office posted the report online and released a statement confirming that the California senator thinks the Obama administration's controversial plan to relocate detainees to the United States is a viable option.

“This report demonstrates that if the political will exists, we could finally close Guantanamo without imperiling our national security,” Feinstein said. “The GAO report makes clear that numerous prisons exist inside the United States -- operated by both the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice—capable of holding the 166 detainees who remain at Guantanamo in an environment that meets the security requirements.”

I don’t think 0bama would EVER house the GITMO detainees at the prison in Illinois. He’s reserving THAT prison for Tea Party members.

I would agree...life in Gitmo is better than life in a US prison. But the game here...is to force civilian judges and Constitutional law into the system. Once you hint of torture....each client will be released.

They know that they can't protect us from these terrorists... or those that would attempt to free them... or create a hostage situation and demand release or the murder of (x) number of Americans if they are not released. They know it is too dangerous to allow them onto our soil... plus they will be reclassified to criminal status from enemy combatant... oh wait... obama will want this... oh no... we will see work release programs, food stamps, welfare, free education and a pathway to citizenship. Oh crap.

I don’t know how they do it, but the detainees at GITMO seem to get updated information constantly. We wouldn’t have gotten Osama Ben Laden if a GITMO detainee hadn’t been manipulated into spilling his guts.

Now Diane wants these detainees disbursed into the domestic prison population.

And when the resultant trials take place, they’ll be sources of information related to our methods, sources, international contacts, and sympathizers.

Diane sometimes actually gets military issues right. (Don’t ask me how.) Here I think she’s acting the part of a fool.

I totally disagree with her.

And with ‘The One’ in the White Hut, her recommendations to do exactly what Obama wanted, will come to pass.

Once again, we have the Obama administration and fellow travelers fronting for the interest of those who wish to destroy us.

The question to be asked is why they want to move them from A to B?. IMO they want these terrorists to have the same rights as americans and establosh precedece. They want open borders and one world everything. That is the only rational explanation I can fathom.

Exactly right about the terrorists locked up and Feinstein.

The turkeys in Gitmo have a wealth of information already and if they hit the civilian courts here they’ll spill much of our classified info themselves or through their attorneys.

I suspect that wouldn’t bother ‘The Won’ in the least if it came to pass.

I believe Obama and Holder still want them tried in the federal courts and if that happens many if not most will walk, and that’s what they want.

He was all for it before he won the 2008 election. I’m shocked he didn’t do it during his first term.

He’s definitely on board. We are after all being so unfair to the people at GITMO. /s

We’ll just see how long it is before one of our courts is attacked to free terrorists.

Maybe but I am not so sure they care one way or the other what happens to these pawns. No there is something else going on that's bigger. It's as if they are trying to break down this notion that these is a legal difference between Americans and foreigners. It's like they want to start moving us along a path towards their one-world open borders crap. I may be all wet too. I just don't like it and smell a bigger rat than these 140 terrorists.

IF I was a terrorist sitting on my butt at Gitmo I’d be sweating blood bullets over the possibility of being transfered to a prison in the U.S. and being surrounded by American criminals who had nothing better to do all day than figure out some way to get at me and do things to my body that no one has ever heard of and would never believe possible.

Problem is....there are Islamists currently in our prisons indoctrinating other prisoners.
