Going Galt has a nice ring to it. Most people do not know what going Galt really means. Like so many expressions we have today, it can mean any number of things.
How about a going Galt strategy that will generate results? What does going Galt mean and how would the strategy work?
Going Galt is generally meant that those of us who are producers in society simply refuse to produce any more. Without producers, the economy will collapse. After all, without the producers, who is going to make what the takers want?
Going Galt is actually something the left would like. After all, the goal of Obama and the hard left is not simply to rule but to fundamentally change America. A crisis like that would give them the chance.
So what do we do?

Where is Atlantis? (I believe that is where the people who were going Galt moved too). It would be needed as an example for what life could be like without the over-burden of a Socialist government.

For my edification, how does one go Galt in present day America?
I know the location was secret, but I have heard no stories of a present day Galt’s gulch.
Similarly, in 1994, I ceased my normal day to day job pursuits and began to function at a much slower level. It was some would say a forced retirement in that I ceased operating my primary business. Serendipity provided new and different business that allows me to keep my hand in but at a 25% level compared to the years before.
I now do not read the newspapers or participate in many local civic activities. Since Free Republic is no longer an activist force, I no longer engage is such.
Have I gone Galt too?

It was time in 2004...when all in congress lost their collective minds.
True going Galt is everyone going to prison for not paying taxes...

Going Galt does not mean (to me) refusing to be a producer.
A better strategy is to channel your productive efforts into endeavors that tend to favor other “red state” type enterprises and individuals. Buy the reloading gear from an outfit in Idaho, not an outfit that imports Chinese via Long Beach. That’s just one small example of what I mean.
Work off the books for cash or barter as much as possible. Take “payment in kind” when you can. Read Tom Baugh’s “Starve the Monkey” for a million ideas about this version of “Going Galt.”
And if you can, “vote with your feet” and move your productive energy from a blue county and state, to deep red. For example, Make Texas the new shining beacon of economic freedom by taking your energy there. Starve the beast, but support people like you with your economic choices.
I’m checking out ... moving to Thailand asap ... work teaching English... start a small business... live cheaply ... marry a pretty woman...
You really can’t go Galt without the “engine”....
You can only pretend, and get as close as possible, (which isn’t all that close, really).
Property taxes still due (they KNOW where you are) for example.

I have a friend who lives in Honduras part time. She is wise enough to have an escape plan TO the USA in the event of a collapse.
She says the Hondurans are great people but she knows that she’ll become their first target when TSHTF.
Agreed, except for moving red state, my version, stand your ground and be prepared for the predictable economic outcome of government-made inflation or insufficient funds. Well, unless your in a bad area full of dupes that will predictable continue to be dupes.
But there is a issue of the media and the low-information voters and the abstaining voters that would have change an outcome if they be presented with the new reality that was so deceitfully covered for.

The rule wouldn’t last. Those who control the weapons would eventually take over. That is, the progressive-statist regime would be replaced by a military dictatorship. The progressive-statist would be left shaking their heads trying to figure out why they couldn’t see that one coming.
At least that is what I think.
