Today is the anniversary of Rosa Parks’ refusal to sit in the back of the bus in Montgomery, Ala. And this photograph of President Obama sitting on that exact same bus 57 years later is a poignant reminder of just how much America has changed in half a century.

Rosa Parks represents individual initiative and responsibility and ethical behavior without the need for the support of big government.

Barack Obama represents collective dependence and lack of accountability and the waiving of ethics in favor of ideology that creates government dependency.

Yeah. Rosa Parks was on her way home from WORK. She fed her own family. She had the pride of a person who worked hard and paid her own way through life. Obama and generations of leftist politicians like him have destroyed the black people of America, a nation where real racism is so rare that we have to resort to hearing “code words” and “dog whistles” to find it.

Dork.

This guy is the king of race baiters. Exactly what point does he think he is making, sitting in that bus.

I’m no supporter of Obama, but I can appreciate the history made when people who had to sit in the back of the bus 57 years ago have watched one of their own become President.

Problem: Mr. Obama is no more descended from Africans who were brought here as chattel slaves than I am, but he does have ancestors on both sides of his family that were slave owners and his father's family were slave merchants in Africa. So how far have we truly come, presstitutes? Oh, another thing: How does he eat like Guy Fiari and still lose weight every day? What disease might cause that?

Dear God....four more years of this lowlife forcing his purple-lipped face into the news every chance he gets, and it hasn’t even officially started yet.

Race-baiting #@!#$!.

My feelings exactly.

I read that many blacks are actually a little put out with Obama, because their condition as a whole has worsened under him and he seems unconcerned. Of course they voted for him, because they would have voted for any black Dem no matter how badly he was treating them. But they’re not happy.

So this is something he is doing to shore up his base, who appear to be dumb as the day is long and fall for all his publicity stunts.

Obama is NOT “African American” in the sense that this term is meant, he knows it, and the press knows it. But the Dems relied on their ability to create fantasies in the minds of an uneducated base, portraying him as black like them, and now he’s trying to refresh this fantasy in the mind of the black suckers who voted for him.

While Rosa Park’s effort certainly took courage her refusal to give up her seat was planned. She was considered more media palatable than a predecessor who spontaneously did the same months earlier. There were other women in previous years who did similar.

More info at http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/parks-predecessor-to-get-her-civil-rights-recognition-at-last-517785.html

It’s fitting that Obama would honor her rather than these other courageous women who protested independently.

Yes, it was a planned event, but that doesn't mean it didn't take courage. After all, on the same day, there were hundreds of thousands of blacks who went to the back of the bus like they always did, and hundreds of thousands of whites who thought that's the way it should be.
