Teacher's Reward Program Charges Second-Graders for Bathroom Breaks ( Irving - Dallas )
nbc dfw ^ | Nov 30, 2012 | Kevin Cokely

The mother of a 7-year-old Irving elementary school student says her son wet his pants in class after his teacher refused to let him use the restroom

...

Cross' son, an honor roll student, needed to go to the bathroom, but he sat back down because he didn’t have any Boyd Bucks, his mother said.

"He tried to hold it as much as he could, but he just couldn’t," Cross said. "He came home from school, and he was crying and really upset."

"Really, that's just unhealthy," Cross said. "I think that she had no concern for the children."

Cross complained to the teacher, but didn’t like the response.

"Originally when I first spoke with the teacher, she was just going to show my son special treatment, but then I said, 'That's just not good enough. I need for you to stop this for all the children,'" she said.

Public school teachers are evil or enablers of evil.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It can’t be said often enough. Personally, I consider government schooling to be so abusive to the child and so threatening to our continuing freedom that I will NOT have a government teacher for a friend.

"just don’t want the rest of the country to know the truth do you."

You nailed it. Our state sucks - it's seriously hot, dry, rattlers everywhere, the people are mean and dumb, jobs pay less than minimum wage, colleges suck, overrun with illegals - the state is just a simerin' cesspool.

It's best for ya'll to stay put where everything is better.

Don’t just dump on public schools. I had two incidents in Catholic school which taught me never to send my kids to private school. Once, I was little and couldn’t get a snap on my pants undone and the nun said her hands were cold wan walked away. I peed my pants and they made me go the rest of the day in nothing but underwear. Not even my shirt. A couple years later, I was coming down with chicken pox and needed to throw up. That nun wouldn’t let me go to the restroom so I held it as long as I could but upchucked on my desk. She made me sit at my desk until the end of school. When I came back to school a few days later, she told me I had to clean my desk. Sick hateful nuns.

Amen to that. Why do people continue to send their kids to the government schools? I used to think Americans would not tolerate the kind of slavish conditions that the Soviet people did, but I was wrong. From putting up with the TSA to the government schools, Americans have become a nation of beaten down, obedient sheep.

If he has to go to the bathroom, at the moment it becoms a necessity, he WILL whether anyone likes it or not.

Wanna bet? Unless you're homeschooling, you have no idea how much pressure to bow to the teachers' authority is being placed on your son.

“Ah yes. All you good folks who extoll the “virtues” of “Texas Living,” are probably “reveling” in this “enlightened approach” to education in your wonderful “land of milk and honey” state!
The truth is, “Texas Education” is a disgrace, and has been for many years, but you all ( pardon me ‘yall ) just don’t want the rest of the country to know the truth do you.”

Uh huh. And you are from....?

“School administrators do not plan any disciplinary action.”

Now isn’t that a surprise. sarc/ And as cruel as children can be, his classmates are going to laugh and tease that kid about this until he graduates. His parents might as well put him in another school.

If this happens to my Grandson, I will tell him to pee in a corner. 5 will get you 10 he will. He has a rather strong sense of self and being a male, with manners.

Boys work well when they know the rules, in this case I can't pee when I have to and where it is acceptable, but I still have to pee, my mother will kick my butt if I pee my pants, so the corner looks good.

Yeah, I hope to homeschool but if I don’t and he is in a public school my boy will be taught to be respectful, to turn the other cheek etc, but be self motivated. By self motivated I mean he will be taught to THINK and trust his own understanding, judgment and he will know that Dad will ALWAYS back him up.

Isn’t it funny how everybody dumps on public schools? My kids used to go to a private Christian school. My daughter had to read a book called The State of the Arts: From Bezalell to Mapplethorpe, where she learned all about really deviant pornography, with graphic descriptions. She was 16.

Trust no one.

You obviously have great intentions, but I feel you're not getting the reality of the situation. Do you think that kid's parents told him when he was little "Never go to the bathroom without explicit permission or ELSE!"? No, but he still bowed to the teacher's authority regardless. He's only in 2nd grade, maybe 3rd, and he's already broken-in by the system. Why would your son have any better chance? You have no idea if you're any more supportive of your son than these parents are of their's. Remember, we're talking little kids here; they know they're supposed to listen to adults in an authority position, so they do. If they don't, they're discipline cases.

It's obvious there is no shortage of teachers who have ZERO sense and will abuse children due to their stupidity. As the saying goes, "the only winning move is not to play."

Maybe he can use his Boyd Bucks to invest in a package of diapers which he will need if he is going to stay in Boyd's classroom.

Your petty and nasty jealousy shows absolutely no regard for the child involved but you want to have a soapbox moment to boost your own ego? Suit yourself and while you’re at it, prove that anyone, anywhere on this thread is reveling what happened to this child.

BTW - The education situation in TExas is nothing new to a lot of us and some of are trying to fix it,,other than lecturing others on a blog. You can take your sanctimonious crap and stuff it!

Well, even God has a problem with the left. That is why there is a Hell. You cannot cure the disease of liberalism, you have to quarantine the carriers to protect the rest.

The wisdom of men is foolishness before God, while the wisdom of God is foolish to men. Liberalism is the wisdom of men.

“Your petty and nasty jealousy shows absolutely no regard for the child involved but you want to have a soapbox moment to boost your own ego? “

Not at all, but I get really tired of the fatuous aholes in Texas that somehow think that they’ve got the promised land. And I take great offense that Texans cluck at great length about how bad things are here in California. The truth is, things are bad the country over, and to suggest that somehow Texas has escaped unscathed is just BS. One of the “well known” Freepers used to live in Texas. That individual tells me that Texas schools were a disgrace in th 1980’s when she lived there, and he family tells her that nothing has changed in the intervening years. Like Texans, we are also proud of our state, not withstanding our morally corrupt RAT government. Instead of banding together to try and find ways to blunt the challenges that have come to all of us thanks to Marxism, some here on FR choose to belittle and denigrate a state most have never even visited because “it’s the cool thing to do” to trash somebody else. I actually looked at a “promotion” years ago to move to Graham, Tx ( you know, “the Gateway to the Possum Kingdom Reservoir’). Sure glad I passed. Can’t imagine having spent any part of my life int that backwardassed place. When I asked the mayor of Graham if their city swimming pool was integrated, He replied that while it was, the Black’s didn’t come because “they knew that they weren’t welcome.” Now that’s a Texas of which we can all be so proud.
