The final vote update from Los Angeles County has given Democrat Steve Fox a slight lead over the presumed Republican victor in the 36th Assembly District, putting the seat in Democrats' column by a margin of just 145 votes.
Fox trailed Republican Ron Smith by about 2,000 votes the day after the Nov. 6 election, according to local reports, but the gap has narrowed in recent weeks as remaining absentee and provisional ballots were counted. The final count by Los Angeles County, which is one of three counties in the district, put Fox ahead with just over 50 percent of the vote.
A win in the 36th Assembly District gives Democrats control of 55 seats in the lower house -- one above the supermajority Assembly Speaker John A. Perez secured with another Election Day upset. Fox is unlikely to be a sure vote for Democrats in the 2013-2014 Legislature, however. The attorney and teacher ran as a Republican in a 2008 Assembly contest and has signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge against raising taxes.

all them extra provisional ballots are always so helpful
Count until you win!
Amazing how all of these recounts of recounts always have the democrat pull slightly ahead in the “last and final” recount.
With the new top-two open primary system in California, this may be the best bet for conservatives.. run as a Democrat.. and once elected, vote Republican.
Rats ALWAYS win the recount.
It’s just as well that the democrats should completely own the disaster called California. Companies and private wage earners are leaving in droves, the mexicans just keep pouring in for the schools and freebies, the agricultural sector has been decimated over a non-native fish, and taxes are going up to record highs. What can possibly go wrong?
“Rats ALWAYS win the recount.”
That’s where their vote fraud really shines!
did they keep finding ballots in closets and trunks?
Isn’t that amazing, how so many “new” votes are found?
Had Romney been declared the winner on 6 November, the counting would still be going on in Obamugabe-friendly counties and precincts...
the Kakistocracy is here. And Obamugabe is the chief Kakistocrat.

Well, well. Seems like the opposite scenario we here in SD are familiar with. Dems switching parties in order to have a shot at winning an election.
No one should be surprised at how those those dems might govern after winning an election. Rino is a familiar way to describe it.
but isnt' that so nice all those votes just happened his way....
From 2000 ahead to 145 behind in a recount.
Has a Pubby ever won a recount?
Who are the idiots who are counting the first time?
I think the reason dems were so pissed in Bush vs Gore is that it was the only time in history when a re re re re re re recount did not result in a democrat win.
to the dems it’s never too late to commit vote fraud. May God strike every last one of them dead.
Why even partake in the sham anymore?
My thought exactly. In recent years then have been dozens, perhaps hundreds, of recounts and late counts, and by sheer random chance some should have increased the Republican totals. For the life of me I cannot recall even a single one.
That was because their idiot with the drill accidentally double-punched through the Buchanan holes instead of the Gore holes, spoiling as many Gore ballots as Bush ballots. They had it stolen, but didn’t execute correctly - leading to episodes of wild rage. :)
Amazing how many Dems “pull ahead” a day or two AFTER election day!
Nothing to see here. Everyone move along!
