Sen. DeMint: Washington Is Lost for Now
Newsmax ^ | Sunday, 02 Dec 2012 03:23 PM | Ernest Istook

“We’ve lost the battle in Washington” for now, says Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C. The new goals, he says, are for conservatives to prove their principles work in states and to defend against President Obama’s effort “to steamroll what’s left of the Republican Party here in Washington.”

As a guest on “Istook Live!,” DeMint agreed that Obama aims to crush his opposition now so they cannot resist his agenda over the next four years. Said the senator, “They smell blood in the water and they’ll keep pushing … they’re not coming our way or coming to the middle to try and govern.”

However, he acknowledges that a “very few” Republicans will go along with the president’s tax demands—but only those officials who “probably aren’t real Republicans” in the first place. …

Then let’s get their representing names out into public view so the constituents responsible for their seats can express their concerns.

That is an accurate assessment.

The GOP and conservatives have failed to advance their ideas and philosophies.

If an older person does not get to a younger person as early as possible and plant the seeds of freedom, then the enemy will absolutely get to them as early as they can and plant the seeds of slavery. That is how it works.

Beyond that, controling the media, all levels of education, and entertainment is a form of mass mind control, and it is shockingly effective.

Until conservatives take drastic action in those areas and in other areas which I will not mention, no progress will be made to turn this around, in fact it will get much, much worse.

IOW, instead of DC being “lost” in a fair fight, the GOP threw it away.

Let us watch the mighty House Republicans stand tall like the watchmen upon the wall, led by that vigilant hero John Boehner.... may God help us all.

When do you think Boehner is going to figure this out? His only option is to call a press conference and call out Obama. Tell him if he leaves town he can forget any negotiations. Then adjourn the House sine die. Go home and start makes speechesin his district. telling the country what the SOB has been doing.

Bullshit! You're beaten only when you think you are! There are the 2014 mid-terms and there is still a Republican majority in the House. Stymie Obama in every way possible. It's long past time for conservatives to start getting tough with the liberals as liberals have been on conservatives. Limbaugh ought to start ramping it up like Savage does and make the Sandra Fluke thing look tame in comparison. “I want you to get in their faces’’ said Obama, and it worked for him, didn't it? Tired of this chickenshit ‘’civility’’ stuff, GOP, GET TOUGH!! This is America we're fighting for!

Oh, YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS? (/s) I lost a 30 year “friend” a couple weeks ago because I’ve been passing on to her articles about what is happening....and she calls me “toxic.” (She did not vote for the “O”) There are soooo many who are oblivious.

Thank you for telling us what we've known for some time now, Senator.

This is the culmination of decades of Republicans attempt to ‘dance with the devil’; rationalizing that it'll all work out in the end.

The warnings and red flags were out there all along but the GOPe chose to ignore it. Now we all will pay the price.

The Storm has come to tear us,
the vicious fight is nigh.
When survival intact looks bleakest
then we shall fight all night

Let us watch the mighty House Republicans stand tall
like the watchmen upon the wall,
led by that vigilant hero John Boehner....
may God help us all.

That has been their job for a couple of decades now.

The GOP did throw it away, but to be fair, so did the sleeping giant.

It remained asleep, and as far as I can tell, it is going to continue to remeain asleep.

The fact of the matter is freedom must be fought for and fought for constantly and ferociously. If a free person on this earth intends to remain free, then that person must eliminate any threat to that freedom outright, immediatley and in such a way that the next would be taker of freedom will not soon forget what is in store for him if he so much as even thinks of trying.

That is all there is to it. The nature of mankind is evil and his desire is to control. This does not apply to every single person, however it only takes a few to control the masses, especially if that few knows how to manufacture the support it needs.

Wow...

Attempt to inform and be shunned.

No matter, she will learn the hard way.

I simply try to prepare those people who have my blood in their veins for what is coming. I do believe civilization is going to experience very soon am abrupt loss of the comfort and convenience that has allowed it to slouch into its current despicable state.

The ONLY reason this is happening in WASH DC is because there is NO REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP.

The people up there representing us, have failed to do the right things. I have relatives who work up there for house and senate people. They tell me often that these people up there do not want to make any waves by taking on tough issues. They are giving us all a line of bull. They don't have the guts to do what we would like for them to do. Clobber the enemy with ideas vs letting the media say what our message is. They are not going to tangle with the media like Newt and Palin has done. We have been lied to. This isn't funny anymore to see such weak leaders. I think they all should be fired because they are incompetent. We need term limits legislation badly. That's the problem.

Well said and I presume the sleeping giant you refer to is the society/culture at large. The time for talk is over; it will no longer serve a purpose, but is it still “too early to shoot the bastards”???

Like Mark Levin has said, resist, delay, obstruct. Be like the freedom fighters of World War II...they resisted, delayed and obstructed when and where they could. It should be our motto..pass it on.

I don’t follow DeMint’s career closely, but I’ve always thought he was a good man.

Good idea. Everyone should vote honestly. And those who don’t should be exposed by those who do.

Never formally adjourn and allow this bastich to make recess appointments and issue illegal executive orders.
Adjourning the House or the Senate is terribly dangerous.
