The football world was rocked Saturday morning when Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher murdered his girlfriend then turned the gun on himself.
This tragedy was bad enough but then the left decided to use another tragedy for political again. What did the left do in light of this tragedy?
Last night, in the weekly edition of Sunday night football, the Cowboys hosted the Eagles in a game with playoff implications.
At halftime, NBC sportscaster and liberal nut job Bob Costas decided to launch into a tirade about the Belcher murder/suicide and gun control.
Costas quoted a Kansas City Sports writer, Jason Whitlock and said:
“‘Our current gun culture,’ Whitlock wrote, ‘ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy. And more convenience store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead. Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it. In the coming days, Jovan Belcher’s actions and their possible connection to football will be analyzed. Who knows? But here,’ wrote Jason Whitlock, ‘is what I believe — if Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Cassandra Perkins would both be alive today.’”
Is being an idiot a prerequisite for getting a job at NBC?

Twitter also calling for firing Costas.
“I watched several plays this weekend of offensive players overtly leading with their heads into defenders who were not leading with theirs and no penalty was called, reverse that and it is called almost every time (on the right team).”
I noticed this too, particularly Golden Tate (I believe) in the Bears-Seahawks game. They had a great shot of it on the broadcast. No flag.
How about if Nicole had pulled a snub-nosed .38 out of her purse?

because better helmets make the thugs that play football hit even harder than ever before.
Solution?
Put them back in soft leather helmets. They won’t hit each other hard at all, they will survive.
See how easy it is to fix all this? Oh, give the quarterback a tutu as well.
I asked that rhetorical question on another thread.
All the same safety and crime reduction arguments could be made for that policy, and it would actually have a far greater impact than a general gun ban.
I’m not advocating it, just pointing out the absurdity of Whitlock’s argument.

So many people who are apparently somehow still alive, but just don't know it, because they haven't talked to Bob Costas yet.
The prophet Holy Bob Costas spake and therefore the player and his wife would be alive excpt for the gun. No other person has ever been killed by any other means or item other than guns. “For we all know that the gun has a mind of its own and can exert overwhelming influence and force an individual to kill another when it was not intended. Except for the gun, the perpetrator would have sought reconcillitation and guidance from the appropriate liberal left leaning authority in his region.”

ESPN has been overcome by leftist-propaganda. It would be nice to go to a sports site for SPORTS! and not leftist-govt approved misinformation. Either they should have a good ‘equal-time’ retort published or have Whitlock fired.
