Norquist: 'Tea Party 2' Backlash if Obama Sends Nation Over Fiscal Cliff

Sunday, December 2, 2012 04:09 PM

Grover Norquist, the founder of Americans for Tax Reform, predicted a tea party backlash that would dwarf the movement’s success in the 2010 midterm elections if President Barack Obama pushes the nation over the “fiscal cliff.

“Tea Party two is going to dwarf tea party one if Obama pushes us off the cliff,” warned Norquist on NBC’s “Meet The Press.”

When asked “Are you over?” by host David Gregory, Norquist responded, “That was last week’s news.”

ROFL. About half way into my rant, I was thinking "Tau" and I are on the same page. THEN I ranted anyway, hope you did not take offense. lol

....." He believes that taxes are too high and that spending on SS and Medicare needs to be cut."""".....

He is an idiot. He is parroting the DU's hatred for OLD people which is very stylish these days.........

......."""Personally, I think Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid are all unconstitutional and should be terminated now, but I recognize that I hold a minority view on that point. Few seniors agree with me.""""""......

You might be suprised about that one. Medicare and SS can be phased out. Medicaid and Welfare can as well, if you tie all school grades to the welfare check. Medicaid limit to so many visits per year and then extra taken from their benifits.

ALL spending CUTS should FIRST come from: AID TO OUR ENEMIES foreign and domestic (they are in the house).

Exactly, I think we do agree completely about how probably most seniors feel. So, if Norquist or anyone else thinks that Tea Party seniors are going to show up to rally with him in support of Medicare cuts like they showed up to oppose Obamacare, he’s mistaken. It’s just human nature.

“The Whigs lost because they stood for nothing.”

Near as I can tell, the GOP-e doesn’t really stand for anything either. OTOH, a third party comprised of Tea Partiers, social conservatives and libertarians would be DOA as the system is stacked heavily in favor of the two major parties in this country, so our best shot probably IS to gut the GOP-e and rebuild it.

When the electorate wants jobs and an economic rebound, all else is just background noise.

That's it, thanks.

Its actually pretty hilarious when you think about it. Republicans will nit pick every detail of a candidate until they find any single reason to NOT vote for them, while the Dems will blindly support their candidate even if it means fanatically dismissing mountains of serious defects and inadequacies in him/her.

We say, "I just couldn't vote for our candidate because out of the 400 issues he spoke about I really didn't like number 47."

They say, "I voted for our candidate because his skin tone reminds me of a Starbucks frappuccino."

Only about a tenth of the spending cuts are cuts in defense spending. It appears that no one wants to discuss the scheduled spending cuts.

And because of that, WE WILL NEVER WIN again. Happens EVERY presidential election.

So, who are these "I will not vote for because..." people, and right here on FR? Makes one wonder.

In the meantime I think I will stick with the Republican party and continue to work for better. No more 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th Other Parties.

The Tea Party (non party) conservatives within the Republican Party is quite enough for me. Even they may not be ALL to my liking, but I will VOTE for them.

My man did not win the Primary, but I stood behind the loser in the general anyway. Had no choice.

You outlasted me. Sounds like we started about the same time, but they lost me when Dole proved he would willingly lose to Clinton, not unlike Bush the elder before him.

The republican brand is promoted as anything you want it to be, which means, they stand for going along to get along.

Who wants to be a part of that step-family? It's hard to be worse than the demonrat party, but the GOPe manages to do it election after election.

You can “like” the TEA Party on Facebook. Then they will send you all polls and links to all the things they should have been following prior to the election.

Unfortunately, a significant number of Tea Party patriots are seniors who receive SS and Medicare. For those folks, taxes may be a secondary concern in all this.>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Cut off everyone, make the so called president SUBMIT A BUDGET that balances.

Its time. Who gives an eff about SS and Medicare benefits when we do not even have a coutry thats ours?

Its time the GOP lives or dies. If it folds to Obama, there will no longer be a GOP.

Thats a fact.
