Norquist: 'Tea Party 2' Backlash if Obama Sends Nation Over Fiscal Cliff
Sunday, December 2, 2012 04:09 PM
Grover Norquist, the founder of Americans for Tax Reform, predicted a tea party backlash that would dwarf the movements success in the 2010 midterm elections if President Barack Obama pushes the nation over the fiscal cliff.
Tea Party two is going to dwarf tea party one if Obama pushes us off the cliff, warned Norquist on NBCs Meet The Press.
When asked Are you over? by host David Gregory, Norquist responded, That was last weeks news.

I have not heard from the so called tea-party since the 2010 election.
did they sit on their laurels for those 2 years?

Walkin in a Winter Wonderland:
*************
Leftists sing, are you listening,
In Bohners brain, Reid is pi$$ing
A beautiful sight,
Were happy tonight.
Walking in Obamas wonderland.
**********
Gone away is the budget,
All we can do, is try to nudge it
Obama sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in Obamas wonderland.
****************
In the meadow we can build Rices snowman,
Then pretend that she is Secretary State
*******************
Shell say: Are you married?
Well say: No man,
But you can do the job
If thats your fate.
*****************
Later on, well conspire,
As we dream by Reichstag fire
To face unafraid,
The treason weve made,
Walking in Obamas wonderland.
********************
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that hes Obamas clown
Well have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the Constitution knocks Obama down.
*******************
When in debt, aint it thrilling,
Though your wallet gets a chilling
Well frolic and play,in the fascist way,
Walking in Obamas wonderland.

As far as I’m concerned, there hasn’t been a GOP since it was taken over by the Democrats when their party was taken over by the Socialist/Communist party. The sooner registered Republicans realize that and starve the beast, the better.
Unfortunately, a significant number of Tea Party patriots are seniors who receive SS and Medicare. For those folks, taxes may be a secondary concern in all this.
The GOP leadership is still reeling from the election. The draconian nature of Obama’s plans are not being openly critiqued or receiving the ridicule they deserve. The TEA party must form a final line of resistance to save what’s left of the country. History will thank them.
” If people watch this on C-SPAN, then you wont have higher taxes, he said.”
As long as the C-SPAN programming doesn’t interfere with “Dancing With The Stars”, “Wishing I Was A Kardashianhian” or “Jersey Showa”...or slow the public down from getting to the Jiffy-Mart to buy their Mega-Trillion Dollar Powerball ticket.
It is critical that discussion includes jobs.
Jobs.
Jobs in America.
We begin forming a real national conservative party, now:
United States Independent Party -Taxed Enough Already ( USIP-Tea)
The GOP died when they dissed and outed Sarah Palin for being a genuine , honest American. EFF the GOP , we do not need the pricks.
I predict the year will end and the Bush tax cuts will go away. This will impact 2014’s tax returns. Plenty of time for a correction.
Conservatives are not going to defeat President Obama and the liberals until conservatives defeat the GOP.
The most important elections in our lifetimes are going to be the 2014 and 2016 primaries. The Tea Party and Values Conservatives (ie. GENUINE CONSERVATIVES) need to take over the GOP Establishment and throw every one of them out on their ear.
Domestic energy (drilling for oil and natural gas, building Keystone) would mean plenty of jobs; bith directly and indirectly. It’s out there; let’s go get it.
Insha’Allah, eh, Grover? For you folks in Rio Linda, that means “God willing” in Arabic. But don’t worry, Grover knows what it means.

Fiscal-Cliff Negotiations
By John Fund
December 3, 2012 4:00 A.M.
Republicans had better wake up and realize that their negotiations with the White House arent so much about how to avoid the looming fiscal cliff as they are about President Obamas attempt to cement his historical legacy as a great liberal hero by forcing them to repudiate their anti-tax pledges.
On Thursday, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner presented the White Houses position on averting the fiscal cliff. It called for $1.6 trillion in higher taxes,

The T-Party energy turned out the vote that gave the GOP a second life. The GOP managed to squander this effort and will likely be discarded. What is next?
Of all of the Tea Party meeting and events that I have attended, most participants were seniors.
Ya know, there are untold billions that could be cut in less politically sensitive areas. Things like bike paths and PBS may be drops in the bucket but they do add up.
Granted we need serious entitlement reform but its pointless to expect it if they won’t even cut the little things.
What I saw in my state, the "party" (non party) was divided, two factions fighting over control of a non entity. rofl.
Then Glenn Beck seemed to stake a claim to the movement with his "big rally" in DC....which was GREAT but left us wandering around for more.
All this left us "the ralliers", homeless.
You can’t sell “jobs” to people who prefer handouts.
Yeah, let’s get rid of Evangelicals. Brilliant.
Welcome to FR.
If it weren't for public schools; our children would KNOW how 'good it was'.
I am not sure what the implosion of the GOP will get conservatives. We need to scrape together a coalition of conservatives, libertarians, and religious voters to win elections.
Instead of destroying the GOP, we need to keep putting up great conservative candidates in primaries. However, we need to follow Buckley’s advice and select the most conservative candidate that can win. This is tough to do, and we will mess up sometimes. But, it is worth the risk of losing the general election to elect conservatives in primary elections.
bullshit - two or three idiots dont define us - thats a libnews concept
sod off , troll
Tea Party vs. Progressive Republicans Battle for the Soul of the GOP
......
Critics, of course, will argue that Romneys defeat in November signals a rebuff of these ideals. The 2012 elections have been the undoing of the 2010 Tea Party tsunami that crashed upon Washington, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) proclaimed in November. The Tea Party is over.
But the actual election results suggests this declaration is a bit exaggerated and vastly underestimates the conservative Tea Partys influence in the GOP.
Despite defeats in states like Indiana and Missouri, the Republican Senate caucus gained three new Tea Party-backed members with the addition of Ted Cruz of Texas, Jeff Flake of Arizona and Deb Fischer of Nebraska. In the House, the Congressional Tea Party Caucus had 60 members before election day. Of those 60, six did not seek re-election, seven lost their races and 47 were re-elected. In addition, candidates endorsed by former GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorums conservative PAC Missouris Ann Wagner and Montanas Steve Daines also secured victories for the right.
The Election Day losers were not the so-called tea partiers, Kibbe points out, they were the candidates embraced by (and some hand-picked by) the Republican establishment who failed to run on the winning message of economic freedom. When you boil it down, Kibbe argues, the lack of serious conservative candidates in 2012 meant many principled Republican voters chose to just stay home on Election Day.
This much is true GOP turnout in 2012 was lower than both the 2008 and 2004 elections. Turnout this year dropped by 7.9 million voters, falling to 123.6 million from 131.5 million in 2008. This years underwhelmed electorate marked the first decline in a presidential election in 16 years. Additionally, only 51.3% of the voting-age population went to the polls. When you couple low turnout with a few obnoxious and offensive comments on rape from gaffe-prone politicians, its hard to say whether the GOP ran with bad policies or just bad candidates....

Evangelicals make up much of the TEA party. Sounds like you don’t even know what an “evangelical” is.
“History will thank them”
I doubt it. Liberals are writing the history.
“Welcome to FR.”
Thank you.
For anyone to think that we don't care is so very wrong, we are watching the young with no jobs, no future, why go to college, etc..
Take every obama created disaster you/we see today and add to my list. WE are very concerned, this is not what we worked and saved for all our lives.
We have survived MANY "balloon bursts" over the years, just as our parents survived the "great depression", but NOTHING like this OBAMA total destruction of America we face today, this one is bigger than anyone can imagine it will be.
Our job now until we die, is to make sure our children survive, that's the best and all we can do now. PEACE
YOu still trolling here?
“Just make sure theyre not evangelical wackadoos who think the earth is 6000 years old or that a womans uterus magically shuts down when shes raped. A few more of these clowns and we can kiss conservatism goodbye.”
The GOP Establishment sandbagged Todd Akin. Todd Akin said something inarticulately, and rather than focusing on Sen. McCaskell, the GOP pounced on Akin. If the GOP Establishment had supported Todd Akin, he would have won. But that’s my point - the GOP Establishment would rather lose than have genuine conservatives in positions of power.
Concerning the reference to the age of the Earth - millions of genuine conservatives have a Bible-based understanding of the world. Pols like Rubio who foolishly disrespect millions of Bible-believing genuine conservatives do so at their own political peril.
Not trolling, just trying (vainly, it seems) from keeping the GOP from going the way of the Whigs.
That is not the case.
Our unemployment rate is 8%. And not improving.
American companies need to stop exporting American jobs.
Most seniors I know do not want any deal that reduces their SS or Medicare benefits. Many, many folks hate Obamacare, but support Medicare.
Oh, your one of those "moderate types" eh?
There is nothing about the GOP worth saving, they are now the dems of the 90's.
This is a Conservative forum, not one for squishy mealy minded moderate trolls.
BINGO.......WELL WORTH THE REPEAT.
I too and many I know WILL TAKE THE HIT. Our generation has seen MANY "Balloon BURSTS", we were there at the beginning of the "GREAT SOCIETY" and could see today from back then. We do know what is at stake, we also knew some good times and we do want it back for our kids and grandkids.
“American companies need to stop exporting American jobs.”
Amen to that! But you’ll never hear al-Norquist or his Club for Growth buddies say that.
Exactly, we are partying on our grandkids’ dime. Time for the party to end.
Says the ladyparts voter who wouldn't know conservatism if it bayoneted her in the neck.
I think now, rather than a backlash, you'll see a lot of hunkering down, survivalism, moving money to the safest places possible, and so on. Protests won't do much at this point. Since the Dems won almost all their senate races, there is not even a threat there.
“Says the ladyparts voter who wouldn’t know conservatism if it bayoneted her in the neck.”
Rush juxtaposed the answer obama gave to a similar question with Rubio's, though they used different words they essentially said the same thing.
The only difference that we're seeing now is the reaction to each one because of who said it.
Rubio's answer was just fine, now his stance on immigration is another thing.
And how would you keep American companies from exporting American jobs?
You just disrespected those of us who think the “age of the Earth” is a very, very stupid question that does not impact deficits, spending, defense or any other important issue.
The hoi polloi have spoken. For the time being, all politics comes down to expanding their access to Other People’s Money. But don’t lose heart. Someday very soon there will be no more of Other People’s Money to distribute and the natural order will be restored. After that we can rebuild the USA.
Year 6, in any 8 year Presidential term, is ALWAYS a disaster at the ballot box, for the Party in control of the White House.
