The military's highest court ousted the judge in the Fort Hood shooting case Monday and threw out his order to have the suspect's beard forcibly shaved before his court-martial.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces ruled that Col. Gregory Gross didn't appear impartial while presiding over the case of Maj. Nidal Hasan, who faces the death penalty if convicted in the 2009 shootings on the Texas Army post that killed 13 people and wounded more than two dozen others.

I say let him come to trial in a beard. If a beard is required by his religion then it is only another aggravating factor pointing to his false loyalty to the United States and his total loyalty to a fanatical cult.

It would be humorous if it weren’t so damned embarrassing that this case has dragged on for this length of time. This guy should have been brought to justice at least a year ago. The authorities in this matter are frightened to death of defending the Muslims. Too damned bad that we’ve come to this in this country.

Good grief. Hasan made HIMSELF subject to UCMJ. Shave it off. It’s “workplace violence” and not terrorism. It’s summer camp, not the army. Let’s all just do our own thing and then the army can learn to understand us as induhviduals.
It doesn’t matter if the beard does not interfere with the process. It matters that the LAW he VOLUNTARILY submitted himself to requires him to be clean shaven. Period. Now get on with it.

I’ve always thought that the families of the slain should determine just punishment, and whatever they say the courts would be bound to carry out.
Once word gets around that you can never really know the consequences of your lawless actions, violent crime will drop like a stone I bet.

When warfare isn’t an option, they use lawfare. We are being played by Hassan, and muslims are paying attention.
The new judge, in keeping with Obama administration policy, immediately ordered the accused murderer to be given a manicure and facial, a massage, and a gourmet meal, before switching him from a prison cell to a room at the Ritz where the accused was installed with his pipe and his bowl and his fiddlers three.
The old judge, meanwhile, was transferred to Nome, Alaska, where he will be sitting on a stool in his underwear and judging the size and weight of arctic voles.
With respect to his religion, they’ll be putting him on trial in a Shariah court....
