I feel for you doctors. I was just looking over my statement from my ENT referral. The doctor charged $180 for the visit and TriCare gave him only $20.
$20 friggin’ dollars for a specialist. Insane.
Have you thought about going to a ‘cash-only’ practice?
(I was just reading up on this topic this morning.)

My daughter is going with a CO chiropractor and said that it’s a completely different experience. Everyone is happy and she doesn’t feel like a cow being prodded down the chute. She’s switching to TriCare Standard and the co-pays are about the same as the CO visits anyway.
From what I understand, a doctor doesn’t make as much money with CO, but the reduction of stress and increase in quality of life might make up for that.
This is the future of American Medicine in about two years, maybe two months.
Liverpool Care Pathway means “let them die”... can it get much more Orwellian?
I treat only hospitalized patients so that wouldn’t be possible. Bur I have often wondered why we as physicians let the government pay us roughly 30 cents on the dollar. Other major insurers do the same. I’d like to be able to go to home depot and tell them I will pay 1/3 of their asking price for new carpeting!
Just like I do, right?
I don’t see where they are exempt from Obamacare?
