If you were a politician, and the public recognized that you were the one who condemned their loved ones to die- do you think you might be a little.... afraid?

Politicians get security details, and most Britons are disarmed anyway. They have nothing to fear.

It’s so nice of them to allow elderly patients, denied treatment for life-threatening conditions, to sue! Why, they should get their day in court in just a few years, which is really hardly any delay at all, considering that the plaintiffs will be old and suffering from untreated, life-threatening illnesses (in order to have standing to sue).

In addition to the politicians and judges, I want to know who will be serving on 0bama's Death Panels, so I know who has the power of life and death over my family and myself? Just curious.

This is why our politicians exempt themselves from CommieCare. They are too indispensable, doncha know. The rest of us are just useless eaters after 75, consuming too much health care. There will be a rude awakening for seniors when this ugly regimen kicks in.

Aren’t Congress members covered by Medicare when they turn 65?

Holder’s people, no doubt. They’ll treat you just like those hatted poll workers would.

My guess is that if you pressed the administrators they would confess to being biased against the old and the white. This is a natural consequense of allowing all this anti-white propaganda free reign. Now if these breast cancer patients were old and non-white then the usual suspects would call this a national tradgedy.

This guy is not going down without a fight, and I suspect I am not alone in that attitude.

In Britain’s Nationalized Health Care guess who the new younger doctors and nurses tend to be? From Pakistan Jamaica and the Third World. Same will happen here. Lots of foreigners will become doctors here because US citizens will find being a doctor low paying and not worth it. But if you come from India, China, Pakistan its a great deal

These new MDs do not identify with old white patients

While I’m no fan of socialized medicine we need to be a little careful here. Studies show that folks in their upper 80s and 90s actually do worse if we intervene in the cath lab than if we treat medically. With breast cancer there are some nontoxic chemos that should be given everyone regardless of age. But the rigorous chemo treatments require healthy heart and kidneys to begin-something that people in their upper 80s and beyond rarely have. With the elderly it is very easy to cause more harm than good with drugs and treatments. While no one should be denied treatment based solely on age we also need to be careful the treatment we use will not cause harm.

“Aren’t Congress members covered by Medicare when they turn 65?”

Once 65 and eligible for Medicare, they can still buy so-called wraparound plans to fill any gaps in coverage.

The elderly are being denied life-saving treatment for heart attacks and surgery following breast cancer, a report warns.

Coming soon to Europe and America....

The "Patriotic Solution" will consist of a plastic bag and a rubber band given to those in need of medical care but for whom the cost of such care will exceed the government limit.

Thankfully none of this will ever happen to 76 year old Osama Obama,Harry Reid or Bella Pelosi.

My mom was a “landed immigrant”in Canada.. so she was “covered” by their health care. At 88 she had a heart attack..the local hospital was closed so she was held for hours and finally sent to a Niagara Falls Ca. hosp.. There she got basically no care.. they ‘held” her in Er for a couple days, ran a few tests and then sent her to the old folks floor, no monitoring , nothing but bed changes and food..
There were NO specialists at the hospital in a city that sees thousands of sight seers from all over the world..just one lone “internist ‘to serve as the health gate keeper there..
If this had happened in the states she would have been in cardiac intensive care and seen a cardiologist ...
When we got her out of there and brought her to her US cardiologist he could not believe how they “cared for her”...

My mom is not a “frail elderly” , she is now 92 and still loves to shop and go out.. they treated her that way because of her age ..
America has no idea what they voted for

As long as these decisions are being made between a doctor and patient, I have no objections. The article mentioned that fewer than 5% of women in their 80’s have breast reconstruction after mastectomy and nearly 100% of women in their 50’s do.

Is this because women in their 80’s are being denied or is it because their health is too fragile to withstand a cosmetic procedure?

I’ve always wanted to have breast reconstruction surgery for a birth defect. It was on the list of ‘things’ after the kids were raised and our finances were in order.

But I recently went through a major spinal surgery and now I don’t know if I have it in me to go through that much pain and risk for something that only my husband and I ever see anyway.

If I were 80 and had just survived breast cancer, I think I’d be about done with vanity at that point.

Again, if it’s the patient and doctor deciding what’s best - fine. But if it’s some bureaucrat dictating how patients are treated, no way.

The same thing is coming soon to the US. Obama adviser Steve Ratner makes this quite clear in a recent NY Times editorial titled “Beyond Obamacare” in which he proclaimed “We need death panels” and argued rationing must be instructed to sustain Obama’s health-care plan.

Totally agree. I was just pointing out another explanation for the statistics. Believe me, no one hates socialized medicine or Obamacare more than I do- it’s going to coat me the last 10-15 years of a career I have been at almost 30 years. But we need to be intellectually honest with are arguments. And there are PLENTY of solid arguments against Obamacare. Good luck on your decision about surgery!
