Maybe this deployment is to prevent the escape of other Russian army units?

It’s probably a response to all those Norwegian illegal aliens.

Will they go on from victory to victory like their Soviet Era predecessors with the tacit approval of a Democrat President?

Obama vacillates between channeling Wilson, then FDR, and then Carter in any order.

Russia is working toward being able to what NATO can do only quicker and better. Look for more European nations to express dissatisfaction with NATO, and to reduce participation.

VADM Korolev is a vocal proponent of combined arms forces and operations. His background is in Nuclear Submarines and ASW.

This unit has had disciplinary problems and had a commander relieved in the last year. I’m not sure that the unit is even up to its established strength or if it could participate effectively in combat operations. Russian military forces may look impressive on paper, but there are severe infrastructure, equipment, and logistical issues.

Maybe the Russians intend to liberate Norway from the socialist/communist left and drive out the Muslims.

“War to the hilt between Communism and Capitalism is
inevitable. Today, of course, we are not strong enough
to attack. Our time will come in 20 or 30 years. To
win, we shall need the element of surprise. The
bourgeoisie will have to be put to sleep. So we shall
begin by launching the most spectacular peace movement
on record. There will be electrifying overtures and
unheard-of concessions. The capitalistic countries,
stupid and decadent, will rejoice to cooperate in
their own destruction. They will leap at another
chance to be friends. As soon as their guard is down,
we will smash them with our clenched fist.”

— Dimitry Z. Manulsky, to the Lenin School of
Political Warfare, 1931.
