You know, it's tough to fight the media on behalf of conservatism when those elected to institute and protect conservatism have no skills whatsoever when it comes to articulating and defending our ideas.
According to this new poll, House Republicans might actually be doing better in this debate were they to simply say nothing. They certainly couldn't be doing worse:
While 53 percent of those surveyed say the GOP would (and should) lose the fiscal cliff blame game, just 27 percent say President Obama would be deserving of more of the blame.

I feel much the same. My participation in politics is over for the rest of my life. I will only engage locally and at the state level. All national races will be left blank. I simply do not count, living in MA takes much of the blame.
I’m done. I don’t care anymore. The only thing I care about right now is money, ammo, food and water.
I’d GOP has done nothing to circumvent the MSM and get the message out. But then again, I’m not sure what the message the GOP wants to send! From what I see, it is not a conservative message... It seems like a party that has failed to firmly define and stand behind some principles and proudly shout them for all who will listen.
I can ramble off my conservative principles without hesitation or fear of hurting someone’s feelings. I can explain them easily. I just don’t see this with the GOP.

Setting aside the GOP/GOPe/whatever conflict for a moment, wouldn't you be? If not, you don't see the problem that is staring you in the face.

Oh BS!!! It does not matter one iota whether the Republicans have crazy RGIII type skillz or Mark Sanchez skillz. The Media will edit, ignore, misquote and otherwise use every corrupt means at its disposal to ALWAYS portray the Republicans as evil. Live it, learn it, love it.
Which brings us to the foundation of the problem for conservatives. The media must be dealt with or there is simply no battle that can be won. Control the battle field, control the battle. It is high time that the Republicans start to treat the media as an arm of the democrat party separated by NADDDA and go after them. Dig up the dirt. Dig up the sludge. Hire opposition research to find out every aspect of Chrissie Matthew’s life. Intimidate and destroy personally the Media.

I agree. Stand aside and let the chips fall where they may. The public has already decided to pre-blame the GOP for any and all fallout.
GOPers in the House... put yesterday’s proposal into a bill, pass it, forward it to the Senate (where it, along with everything else will die), and take your holiday break. You’re never going to win in the eyes of the brain-dead American public anyway. So to hell with it. Pass it, tell Obama where to stick it, and head out of town.
