California officials need to add up the costs of all the state's clean-energy policies before adopting any more, according to a report issued Monday by a government oversight agency.
The state has adopted a series of far-reaching energy reforms - boosting the use of renewable power and reining in greenhouse gases - without considering how each policy affects the others, the Little Hoover Commission argues in the report.
Even worse, state officials have no clear idea how much all of those reforms, taken together, will cost.
Californians could soon face a "rate impact bomb" of exploding electricity prices as a result, the report found. The governor and the Legislature should refrain from adopting any big new energy initiatives until those costs are better understood, according to the report.
"Blazing the trail on energy policies creates a significant burden to succeed," the report reads. "Should energy costs unexpectedly escalate or energy becomes unreliable, California will jeopardize not only its own environmental stewardship goals, it will put the state's economy at risk and jeopardize support for renewable energy in other states and other countries as well."
The report also calls for consolidating all state energy policy in one department.

Several decades ago, I read a SCIFI book (can’t remember much of it), but in it there were people in society who saved up their money and bought something called a “happy cloak” or something like that. They put it on; it was some sort of manufactured fabric organism that fed off the wearer, giving nirvana to the wearer in return.
It was certain death, but the wearers did not care. This is the definition of a liberal.

Trouble is, California politicos don’t care about the consequences of their actions. This is a trait common to children, sociopaths, and libtards.
Main reason why I got solar panels installed this summer. My rates may go up, but I won’t get the hit others will.
Hitting rock bottom is often a good lesson. Let the libtards see first hand the suffering they created. Let the electorate wake up from fantasy land as well.
A similar scheme was employed to get people in Australia to install solar on their homes. After it was installed, the country nationalized the solar panel assets. They are required to sell their power to the grid at a price determined by the government and pay for electricity from the grid at a substantially higher rate. They are not allowed to operate at a more favorable rate from electricity generated by solar cells purchased with their own private funds and installed on their own private property. Think that can't happen here?

Don't worry about the regulators. The lobbyists write the bills and payoff the legislators to pass them. The regulators are dumb seat warmers who do as they are told.
