Majority of young voters wants bigger government
Daily Caller ^ | 11/28/12 | Daily Caller News Foundation

Nearly 6 in 10 young voters support bigger government — a worrisome statistic for conservatives who want to increase their presence on college campuses and among the under-30 crowd.

According to the Pew Research Center, 59 percent of young voters think the government should do more — something only 44 percent of all voters support. On government-run healthcare, the most popular policy preference among young voters was to expand it.

Young voters were also far more likely to identify as liberals and members of the Democratic Party than older generations.

For young conservative activists, making inroads on college campuses will be no easy task.

“The rise in young people embracing paternalistic government comes as no shock,” said Gabriella Hoffman, a field coordinator for the Leadership Institute, in an email to The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Most have developed contempt for free enterprise and limited government from their college professors who inject anti-free market, socialist and even Marxist views into their lectures.”

Students with non-liberal views need to fight back, or be drowned out entirely, she said.

“If students don’t expose this bias and bombard their campuses with alternative viewpoints, then more young people will become slaves to the government.”

The youth vote was instrumental in achieving President Barack Obama’s re-election, according to Pew. Obama beat Mitt Romney by 24 points among voters under 30 year of age.

Obama only managed 60% of the youth vote this year, down from 66% in 2008. If that trend accelerates as I expect it will, they will at least be attempting to get out of the way before the freight of unsustainable debt crashes down upon their heads.

CPUSA

Communist Party, USA is a marxist-Leninist (made up of
Russian-Americans). Oldest communist Party in world,
1918. Supported the black supremacy groups (ie: Black
Panther Party) and Black National Congress. Far left is
black Far right is KKK and Neo-Nazi. Their leader is Sam
Webb who represents US in Communist summits, really old
guy. Sam looks Russian. Also party of now-famous poet and
activist, Frank Marshal Davis, who moved to Hawaii and
thought [taught] Pres. Obama tricks-of-the-trade.

Affiliated with all the marxist professors goal of
teaching communism. Who heard of deleonlist professor’s
anyway? Never mentioned by any radio stations or TV
stations, because due to the smith act, the followers
freelanced and took a New Union Party stance on censoring
words like communist and marxist. CPUSA now situated as a
think-tank for far-left Democrats.

Basically, the de-facto party to the present the far-
left.

I thought the youth were supposed to be rebellious and rage against the machine? Yet they end up voting for the machine.

Have they seen pictures of the “youth” in Spain, protesting their 50% unemployment rate? When the money runs out, Socialism is dead.

He’ll yes, they get to stay on daddy’s health insurance, free condoms or free abortions, promise of a free college education, and legalized weed. What more could a young voter ask for?

I would love to see the people, in my generation, who have voluntarily not paid for health insurance and to see their faces, especially the Obama voters, when they realize that they have to pay a bill.

Government healthcare: bureaucratic, unaccountable to anyone, eternal, coercive and intrusive just like any other governmental bureaucracy, but we must have more, more, more!

On government-run healthcare, the most popular policy preference among young voters was to expand it...yeah? - wait 'til next year when they start getting the bill and it begins to dawn on their addled brains that they're being used to provide funding for older people who use the system much more frequently......

“Do you think the Chinese will wish to continue this path forever?
Nope, in another generation it’ll might be Americans working for slave wages so some spoiled Chinese brat can have their government give them their free phone.”

Since 2004, I’ve volunteered at local political phone banks, helped at rallies, volunteered to be a poll watcher, knocked on doors, and gone to local high schools to register 18 year-olds to vote. The most common thread I’ve found is, just as this article discusses, that most kids want government to coddle them. They want a big fluffy government blanket to keep them warm, give them a college education, and find them a job when they get their degrees in Womyn’s Studies and Race Relations.

For 8 years I’ve watched as kids pulled the levers for the Democrats. I’m at the point where I don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t have the mental energy to spar with these kids. They’re incontrovertible in their opinions. Telling them that Republicans stand for self-reliance, personal responsibility, and entrepreneurialism often evokes a sneer. The message is lost on them, and I’m not going to lie. They want for what they’re voting.
