2012′s high-stakes spin war: George Soros won, Karl Rove lost
Special to WorldTribune.com
By Cliff Kincaid
Fox News contributor Karl Rove was criticized in the media for objecting to the channel calling Ohio for Barack Obama on election night. The state of Ohio did in fact go for Obama and the channel was correct in making that prediction. Like many other Fox News commentators, Rove had mistakenly forecast a Romney victory. He was only alone in thinking this was still possible as election night wore on and the results from Ohio came in.
A more important controversy, however, is what Rove, former Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to President George W. Bush, did with the $300 million that he raised from conservative donors for the purpose of defeating Barack Obama and electing a Republican Senate..
On Fox News, Rove blamed Mitt Romneys campaign for not responding aggressively to attacks on the Republican presidential nominee. But his close friend and associate, Ed Gillespie, was a top Romney adviser.

Rove forgot to factor in the dead, alien, traveling, manufactured and multiple voter vote.
On one hand I agree, Romney’s spin machine basically sucked.
On the other hand though, the GOP is weakening terribly. We are exporting (American) jobs then wondering why our support is decreasing.
Bring back American jobs. Now.
....and America lost.
Romney ran as a boxing gentleman, refusing to beat Obama with his secret, hidden record when Romney certainly had the resources to find and have published Obama's hidden past. Obama ran as a rabid attack dog, and won. Big surprise.
It was a sorry thing that Romney lost. What is even sorrier is that although we know there was massive electoral fraud, Romney has dissappeared into the background and seems not bothered to make an effort to correct this for the next election.
"Maybe freedom can't be inherited. Maybe it has to be earned by each new generation." -- from the miniseries "Amerika."
That is why it was each State's responsibility to make certain the vote was legitimate. Neither Ohio, Pennsylvania or Floridah bothered to prevent or correct the significant and blatant voter fraud.
The biggest question I have about the election was why the States are not willing to go after vote fraud and why the FEC fails to stop nobama’s foreign campaign money. It would seem they do not care about the integrity of the election and ultimately the sovernty of America.
As a side note, I was talking with my neighbor recently. She and all of her family are devout Christians. She said that she voted for Romney, “but you know that he is not a Christian don’t you?”
Geesh. I thought that is was just many Evangelicals that believed Romney was a Devil worshiper, but I guess that I was wrong. Sarc.....
Anyway, it was a lot of factors, including poor advisors that doomed Romney to the ash heep of failed GOP candidates.
Karl Rove lost for one simple reason ... he is a raging buffoon. He, Dick Morris and a host of others need to go away. We need real Conservatives with real analysis, not doing that “this is what they want to hear so I can get them to vote for me” BS.
They need to stop blaming fantasies and look in the morror.
You raise an excellent point.
We can debate the pros and cons, but embracing the Ross Perot platform on foreign trade and jobs would revive this party in a hurry. Not that I expect they’d ever do it.
Well obviously that was said a little tongue-in-cheek. Rove obviously wasn’t considering the cheat factor, though I guess in retrospect he should have.
Most states don’t have the laws in place to deal with it. Enough don’t have voter ID, and too many have same day registration, just for starters.
In the ‘14 state elections, we need to win as many GOP legislatures as possible, and voter ID needs to be our top goal, followed by limiting union bargaining power. Those two things would set us up for ‘16 more than anything we could do.
Well I agree but will put a bit of a twist on it. We need to get more populist. Articulate the same principles, but in a way that reaches people’s gut and not their head. Voters are a bit defensive and feral, and we have to relate to them on the level where they are at, not where we want them to be.
Soros spent a lot of money trying to get John Kerry elected in 2004. He spent a lot of money getting Obama elected in 2008. He’ll spend a lot of money to get Hillary elected in 2016. Is it because he’s a big liberal Democrat? Nope. It’s about oil....black gold.....Texas Tea.
Rove has been around long enough to know the ropes.
No matter how many millions you spend on TV ads explaining valid differences between candidates, those dead and imaginary democrat voters never pay attention.
Rove’s money would have acommplished more if he spent it prparing for, and protecting against, democrat voter fraud in critical precincts in swing states.
Democrats know they only have to manufacture a few thousand votes in specific precincts to swing an entire state.
Speak roman to the romans.
If a person can relate to the candidate, there is a better chance to win them over.
Rove is a fat lying douche. But so is everyone else on Fox News, Limbaugh, “let not your heart be troubled” idiot Hannity, Levin, and all the rest. We were played for fools. They wanted our contributions to make the fat cats richer, but they all knew the fix was in. The Republicans and Democrats serve the same master, and that master wants us all to be poor and enslaved. Time to wake up and realize that the Republic died a long time ago. Not in 2012. Not in 2008. Probably even before George W. Bush. The America of my childhood is a memory now. We live in a post-Constitutional police state now.
/facepalm
Rove’s on the air protesting likely his knowing Ohio projections was fraud driven.
I understand that in America's past it may not have been such a great need to protect against voter fraud, that has changed. Now one party is quite happy to adulterate Freedom and Liberty under the Soviet philosophy of “end justifies the means”.
Because of our historical inattention, the dems have perfected vote fraud into an art form. America and our previous Liberty may be gone forever without significant and probably violent resistance.
They don't. I've sat and listened to liberal relatives tell me they'd just as soon that America and all nation-states disappeared, under the assumption that a worldwide Imperium governed by murderers and genocides would treat them gently and solicit their opinions as the star by which to steer the global Ship of State (or Barge of Death, whatever).
