Then tote your froggy butt right back over to DU.
I have never been there to know.

This is the second post you’ve defended one of the scummy-est dems, Brooks. What gives????

Maybe twice a year in the area you can get to see the deep blue skies that most of the country sees. That occurs when their is a deep ridge of northern air [Canadian] that locks in place for a couple of days. Then you can see the true blue of the sky into deep space plus stars that you had forgotten that even existed.

Jack Brooks was a go to guy for many in the SE Texas region as he had the power in DC to make or break most any project and he did.

His loss in 92 was unexpected to say the least. I remember watching on channel 6, the local CBS station, as they were reporting from what was thought to be his campaign victory celebration party. The tv station had gotten reports from over in the Galveston area that Stockman had won enough votes there to win the election. They had Brooks on live as this was coming in to the reporter. The reporter asked Brooks about his loss and the Stockman win.

Brooks was flabbergasted to say the least as he was unaware that he had lost. He responded by asking them “where did you hear that”. They told him and he and his campaign people left to get the info with details. He wasn't a happy camper for sure.

A bit of trivia: In the 1994 Impeachment proceedings Brooks as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee used a gavel that was made from wood used in the 1993 Nixon inauguration ceremonies.

Clinton’s impeachment was in 1998, Brooks was defeated for re-election in ‘94. The gavel to which you refer was used in ‘74 during Nixon proceedings.

You are correct. I knew the date but typed it in wrong and didn’t catch it in my review. I also misused ‘their’ which should have been ‘there’ in my 2nd sentence about the weather.

Thanks for the correction on the date so that others won’t be misled.

Take care...
