I don’t know that anybody “let” them take over so much as they actively and aggressively gamed the political system, strategized, targeted areas, ran for office, overwhelmed the area with numbers, and won the seats. Once you get the legislative and judicial levers at your disposal, well, there it goes.

Don't forget the press. Fighting all that free advertizing is more than an uphill battle.

This very attitude is why nothing will change positively in CA. Its everyone else’s fault. Hmm, sounds like liberal logic.

Are you taking the blame for having a Communist block Captain out of Chicago as President?

Is it everyone else fault? Is it your fault for being outnumbered? Are you a coward? Why didn't you stop this?

You blame CA conservatives for everything wrong in CA.

Yet your entire government is a cesspool of socialism, as you do nothing to point the finger at everyone else.

“...Don’t forget the press...”

Once again, it goes back to the fact that the other side actively goes after the position where they can control the flow of info, law, opinion, etc.

Nothing will change until our side does the same thing.

Here in PA we passed Voter ID, by something like 70% approval of the folks in the state.

A Democrat Judge nullified it - “for this election only, because there isn’t enough time for people to get photo IDs” And PA went to Jughead for the second time.

What? Really? Are you effing KIDDING me? So when one operative in a position like that can strike down a law (even temporarily) that the MAJORITY of the state wanted passed... that means WE have to have our people in those positions ultimately.

But that in turn means that good people have to in fact run for those positions, and be prepared to take the garbage and smears that the other side will bring to the fight.

If you want to be the enemy, you have to fight HARDER than the enemy - an inconvenient little factoid that the GOP doesn’t seem to grasp.

I agree with those who say that we need to be understanding of the times of the historical figures we presume to judge. Our Founding Fathers lived in a society that was quite different from ours, and yet they created the best country in the world. Those who damn them for slavery are ignorant of history, since slaves had been a reality of life since ancient times, and likely existed long before recorded history.

You know, I don’t think they’re ignorant of history at all- I do believe they know exactly what they’re doing - emphasizing those parts of history that they know to be inflammatory to to anger one segment of society (blacks), shame and guilt another segment into silence or rejection (whites), and inflame another segment that the land was STOLEN from them (hispanics, illegals).

They know EXACTLY what they’re doing because they’ve studied human nature for decades and perfected it in other countries before setting it off here.

Find the scabs, pick at them, infect them, and then sit back and watch it fester into something ugly, so you can come in and propose the cure. That’s been the game plan for a long time.

Some of them know what they’re doing, but a surprising number of people are uneducated about history, which is why those who use the issue of early American slavery to divide us are able to get away with their lies.

“...surprising number of people are uneducated about history,...”

Sure thing - because it’s not being taught; and what IS being taught is Marxist revisionist BS where the typical American is the evil, nasty slave-owning Simon Le Gree and the poor, downtrodden people of color (all good Democrats of course) are the noble victims.

So you have one segment being taught that their ancestors were horrible folks, and the others taught that they’re OWED something.

Not conducive to good relations...and a _resident who just keeps picking at that scab.

And this passes for public education. Kids today know everything there is to know about worthless pop culture idiots and nothing about the heritage and deeds of the people that created this amazing experiment in liberty for the little guy.

So it will go away, ultimately, unless we stop the slide.

Our public school system is definitely a big culprit in this, I agree, as is the MSM.

Too much of what is happening in our public schools is political, and has greatly harmed this country.

My parents must have known what was going on, because at great sacrifice to their limited and meager finances, they managed to put me and my siblings through parochial school, where proper history was taught. This was in the late 60s early 70s.

Looking back, though, I remember some of the PC bullhs*t starting to creep into that system as well.

That and homeschooling are the only ways that parents can keep their children from experiencing the brainwashing that takes place in the public schools.

I'm not convinced that the GOP does want to beat the enemy.

Some of them do; the ones who Boehner is purging.

The new Tea Party freshmen. We need to do whatever necessary to make sure that those that represent us stay there to do so...and those that are in opposition to what we the people want are removed.

It would be interesting to see how many libs bought guns. And the IQ level would be interesting, too.

Yeah, and some of them forget about people like the owner of this board who lives in Calif., the “Cee gar Marine”-Nick Popaditch (sp?), Duncan Hunter and his son, Tom McClintock (sp?), several conservative celebrities, etc..

Youre not making much sense but here goes....

I dont live in all the other 49 states. I live in TN which went red. I think CA went blue as usual. Its really what Ive been trying to explain all along...you should have some influence in your own state of residence. In regard to gun laws CA gun owners by and large have failed by their own inaction. Its no more complicated than that. The last bit of news I read from your state was extending the open carry law to include unloaded HGs. Before that it was the sheriff of Orange (?) Co. making it known she would only give carry permits to those well connected. If youve had any successes at all Ive not heard about them. At this point even victories anyone else would consider insignificant would be a big gain in CA.

What Californians are buying guns? Aren't they afraid that those evil guns will “go off during the night and hurt or kill someone”?

I actually had a Californian ask me that one time when she heard that Mr Ditter was a hunter and gun collector. Then she went into our den and she ‘went off’ on the ‘dead animals’ hanging on the walls.

She was never invited back.

And when you call feinstein's office and the staffer says she'll put your "NO" down on the "yes" list for a particular bill. We found that breaking their fax machines was more effective than phone calls.

We have Feinstein's number on speed dial. No use calling boxer's office, they let the voice mail fill up and never man the phones!

It's fax all the way for those two!

I love those from other states that think we don't fight! Hell yeah we fight. We even voted, TWICE, on Prop 8 but the idiot courts overruled the will of the people..

So, for those that say CA is a lost cause, I tell you....take your liberals back to your own state. Our state was pretty great when I was growing up but then the libs from the cold sates wanted warmer weather and moved here. Take them back and we'll be just fine!
