Chicago police to increase security at gang funerals

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Rahm Emanuel announced Wednesday that gang funerals in Chicago will start to be treated like "gang events," including increased police presence, pat-downs, and searches outside of funeral homes and churches.
"Where there's a gang funeral — given that they have shown no respect for a place of worship — we're gonna change how they're gonna operate. The Police Department is gonna change the way they deal with gang funerals," the mayor said.

Some of these gangs need to be treated as terrorists instead of public nuisances? That said it is a big concern when OUR government can wily nily call us Americans terrorists when they feel like it.

Let’s see. How can this go wrong? Police at a gang funeral. Mourners take their anger out on the police. Police have to call in backups. Crowd forms.

Especially if a cop did the community a service by ridding society of the gangbanger being "honored."

And remember, this kind of coverage doesn’t come cheap:
A police helicopter was on stand-by to escort the funeral procession to the cemetery and watch for illegal conduct but the burial was canceled because Miller’s family was apparently unable to pay the bill.
We guess Chicago is paying for the burial at some point, too. Truly a cradle-to-grave existence. “

The hourly cost to taxpayer to operate the police helicopter:
The total variable cost for the Bell 206B-3 at $553, which does not include cost of two police officers.
What about the escort from funeral home to cemetery? Will there be official 20-car police escorts, full sirens, runner cop going to the next intersection or traffic light to hold passing traffic to facilitate passage? With the finest shiny waxed cruisers, lights flashing, flags on the bumpers? Cops in their finest uniforms for the occasion, buffed shoes and shiny badges?
Instead of Guns N’ Roses, we have Gangs N’ Posers.
Maybe Costas can loan out his armed security.

If you ask me, it is an opportunity to be rid of more scum - let the little turds kill each other.
