Imploding?

Nah, it's a debate that we've needed at this level for a long time.

And it provides useful information that we need for some (electoral, of course) pruning of the GOP.

Mister Boehner appears to be showing no qualms about abusing power to frighten weak House Members into going along (about issues that he clearly does not grasp, with solutions that appear to have arisen from a bar full of empty martini glasses).

He also clearly does not see that he's falling into the politically "toxic" zone ... (Arlen Specter, move over) .

Please recall, dear FRiends, that it is none other than Mister Boehner who came up with the cleaver deal to defund our precious military by a half-trillion dollars in exchange for what amounts to be an IOU from the Dems. We do not want him cutting any more deals on our alleged behalf.

.

By default the dems already have their way. We go over the “cliff”, taxes go up on everyone, among lots of other bad shit (with republicans being blamed) and the military gets gutted. For them, what’s not to love?

What 0-tard is REALLY after right now is trying to get authority to raise the “debt ceiling”.... All by himself.(separation of powers anyone?)

The House should have voted to make all the tax cuts permanent,(this would help shield them from blame for when the taxes go up on expiry)sent it on to the Senate, and told Harry Reid and 0bama to have fun coming up with a deal on the “fiscal cliff”, and have a nice day.....

Instead, Boner and Cantor has allowed them to get entangled and mired down into negotiating/fighting within the party, all for NOTHING because the dems have already won by default, while 0bama and the liberals sit back and watch with enjoyment.

All I know is whoever allowed us to get setup by that “super committee” during the LAST “debt ceiling” fight needs to be comprehensively TARRED & FEATHERED! This entire mess originates with them, and left the republicans in the sorry situation they now find themselves in! Boner and Cantor were playing a game of Checkers back then, while the dems were playing Chess!

.....And they are about to give those bozos their leadership positions back, when we truly NEED A PURGE among the House “leadership”!

I think he’s after one more thing besides what you have explained. He wants the Republicans to bow down and kiss his ring in humiliation. He wants more than the power of an unlimited purse he wants their tacit, albeit unspoken, submission to his will. After they cave in on this ‘fiscal cliff’ BS I think we are going to see some amazing things happen.

No, not one bit good. I want to be wrong about it. I would rather be vilified throughout the country as a fool for saying it than to be right.

OTOH I am not entirely cynical about how the country will react to 0basma if I am right.

The republican establishment designed, with the democrats over the years, (esp. since Reagan is gone) to set this path of having no conservative voices at the table. GW Bush did mostly what he was told to do. The party elders (who are the Bushes) figured the Obama being dangerous candidate would get the base to the polls and getting Romney the win. With a liberal moderate winning, this would be finalizing the nail in the coffin for the new modern Republican party.

A large portion of the republican base have carried them to victory for years by putting their love of country first; even with distrust for these elders. This past election, many seen through the untruths and said no more helping a party which disrespects them as bad as the opposition does. I think they all want to govern over all of us with a new style one government rule. They know we are mostly a obedient and polite society. This is not something in which just happened. We can tell because look how far away we have moved from Reagan's polices and even Newt's agenda in the house. We had a lot of gains and solid legislation. We should have never lost those gains. We should have built on them. What did the new speaker do to build on what he was left with?! The reality is Obama’s forward slogan is right on course while the other side secretly asks to ride along. Now, more voters see this compromise made by the 2 parties is not a secret any longer, is it. The dems say don't worry, we go on attack because we know how to beat the conservatives (not like you, our republican friends) and we have the press. It has been a fraud perpetrated on the American citizen. Some do not care because they want what Tom has; Obama is making it easier for them to have what Tom has.

...”God’s speed Rand”...

To me, he is the smartest and most ethical man in government today. The GOP should fall at his feet for advice because he is smart, logical, courageous and is not owned by anyone. He loves his country and he is a statesman and the kind of man who will sacrifice for liberty for all. I see him as a gem in a sea of manure.

As Rush said, “obama wants an apology and an admission that the republican brand has ALWAYS been wrong and he wants the total destruction of the republican party and its core ideology". If only Reagan and Bush had not cut taxes and left tax rates astronomically high, then we would have balanced budgets and Heaven on earth. He wants the total destruction of the republican party and ALL Conservative ideology. He wants to blame every ill on the right. boehner, cantor, mcconnell and others want the same thing as obama.

Hell - there's ample evidence he's never actually FOUGHT a battle against anyone but conservative Republicans. When it comes to the other side of the aisle, all he does is posture for a while then give in. Then he cleanses his soul with some controlled weeping and is ready to go on for the next betrayal.
