An Illinois state senator running for former Democratic U.S. Representative Jesse Jackson Jr.'s seat in Congress was released on bond on Thursday, following his arrest for trying to bring a gun onto an airplane. A Cook County judge set bail at $25,000 for Donne Trotter, 62, on the felony charge. Trotter, who has called the incident an honest mistake, posted bond and was released shortly afterward. If convicted, Trotter could face a sentence ranging from probation to up to four years in prison, according to prosecutors. Trotter, a Chicago Democrat, is a gun control advocate who once voted "no" on a measure that would have allowed state residents to carry concealed weapons in 1995.

We should welcome this guy with open arms. He's obviously afraid to live openly in Illinois.

,,, you see a gun is merely an everyday tool in the life of a Chicago resident sorta like a cell phone or a hoodie . You just don’t understand the culture if you arrest a man for this kinda thing . This could be racism .

LMAO. Now we have a gun toting would-be felon who voted against other people toting guns, and a criminal who was locked up for sexual molestation of a young woman , running for the position left vacant by a crook who illegally took campaign funds.

What a country. What a race.
Do I mean race of people or political race? Take your pick, it works for me either way.

While I enjoy trouble for Democraps as much as the next person, this whole gun business is total BS. Anyone who is not in jail should be able to buy a gun and carry it. And, if anyone is “caught” accidentally with one in their luggage, they should be able to say “sorry I forgot it” and check it through.
