French actor Gerard Depardieu delivers a speech during a campaign rally for France's President Nicolas Sarkozy, candidate for the 2012 REUTERS/Charles Platiau
He can hang out with me any day.
I wonder if any elected official in France will compare the tax revenues before and after the hike. I will be willing to bet that will never happen. Hard data often destroys Utopian dreams.
A bit of a nutcase, undoubtedly, but a great actor who gave one of the great performances in one of the greatest 20th century films, JEAN deFLORETTE, with Yves Montand.
The motorist just wants the glory of having been beaten up by Obelix....
These French are crazy!
Depardieu was a really hot ticket in the late70’s-early 80’s. For the ladies, check out the movies: The Return of Marin Guerre, Get Out Your Handkerchiefs, and The Last Metro. I always liked Depardieu. Nobody tells him what to do! (except his Directors, of course!)
Real men ride big hogs........
Gosh, he looks terrible. Quite a character, ole Depardieu.
Great movie! I thought Montand stole the movie, though, as that mean, tightfisted peasant.
All the big hogs in Frahnce are used to find mushrooms, not carry big, fat Frenchmen.
‘Liked him as Reynaldo in Branagh’s “Hamlet”.
The Return of Martin Guerre is one of my all time favorites. Of course, the American film industry remade it starring Richard Gere and it was horrible.
They show that movie on the French channels in canada twice a year and it’s really good.
LMBO!!!
He couldn't have said this with a straight face. Taxes had nothing to do with it, nothing at all.
lol.
He isn’t the only one getting out to avoid the 75% tax rate
At least he did speeches for Sarkozy, unlike our thespians who scream for higher taxes and vote for Obamba, then use every tax loophole.
Breitbart has a piece on the revenue drop in California, even after "they" got their tax increases.
SPOILER ALERT: (for anyone who hasn’t seen J DeF)
He did steal the movie, largely because , by the very end,
he has all the weight of Greek tragedy wash over him, and,
having learned he has brought about the death of his own son,
he has nothing left to do but go lie down in his bed, and die
by daybreak.
