Cut Medicaid, Welfare, and Government Workers salaries and benefits.

The Taxpayer is NOT the only way to balance a budget and Government-dependent should "pay their fair share".

Duh. It’s going to happen anyway. 0bama has already borrowed billions for the coming fiscal year and the economic train wreck is coming. No amount of taxes will cover the budget deficits he is running

These people have to make up their minds.

What do they want? Increased revenue to the treasury or more control over everyone's lives?

If they want increased revenue, they need to CUT TAXES.

Works every time it's tried.

If the citizens of United States had the same self-determination as do the members of a small inuit tribe, every last one of these clowns would be marched to the edge of a calving ice shelf, given a piece of whale blubber, and a shove.

Yet another liberal Republican governor for PA. Might as well not have elections here; just name another socialist democrat to the job. I don’t remember if this state ever elected a conservative as Governor.

Our unofficial state motto: Pennsylvania. Land of Taxes.

If taxes aren’t raised, Corbett said, “every state is going to be affected” through cuts to military contracts and spending for senior citizens, special education and other programs relied on by millions. …

Every state is going to be affected through cuts to military contracts and spending for senior citizens, special education and other programs relied on by millions, if taxes ARE raised, too.

If our rulers drag this out long enough, we'll envy Weimar Germany before it's over.

But then, that's what The Won and the barbarians on the other end of his BlackBerry want.

raise revenue by taxing welfare and government salaries

and cutting the number of welfare bureaucrats in half could save hundreds of billions

“GOP Has to Agree to Raise Taxes”

Why? The legislation is already in place for this to happen anyway, come the first of January. As part of the agreement to raise the purely artificial debt limit imposed on the US Treasury, the tax rates set under the Bush administration simply expire, accomplishing exactly the same thing. The temporary reduction in the employee’s share of the FICA taxes will also expire, effectively “raising” the payroll tax. The other side of the equation, the sequestration of federal spending with a meat-ax approach right across the board pretty much eliminates the advocacy for one pet project or another, and is perhaps the fairest way possible to rein back at least SOME of the daily hemorrhaging from the US Treasury.

If the suffering is not spread WIDELY, then nobody has any incentive for it to stop for the few.

This WILL be balanced on the backs of the “poor”. Because we ALL are going to be part of the “poor”.

The big, red, green and purple elephant in the room is that they could raise taxes on everybody to 100% and it's not enough to put a dent in the exponential numbers that have already hit their inflection point.

Funny how no politician, right or left, ever mentions it.

There Aren't Enough Rich People To Tax, and after you tax them to death there will be even fewer.

How about we start paying more taxes right after Obama’s State Dept. stops giving American taxpayer dollars to restore mosques all over the world.

IOW, government largesse is at risk.

There won't be enough lamposts and piano wire to go around around to hang all these SOBs when the dust settles.

Hey Tom!

What do you suppose those @$$hats are going to do with that $85B resulting from that tax increase?

They’re going to spend it THREE TIMES!

It won’t be used to pay off debt!

IT WILL BE USED TO BUY MORE VOTES, through non-value added, give-away programs!

Raise taxes to do what? What dollar amount will be raised? To what will said taxes be applied? For how long will these said taxes be raised?

Obama Approval

Approve Disapprove Spread
53.7% 42.5% +11.2%

Yeah, pretty much. Elections have consequences.

If taxes aren’t raised, Corbett said, “every state is going to be affected”

As if the insane increase of federal spending on EVERYTHING BUT DEFENSE hasn't affected us. Now we are going to be defenseless in the face of hostile enemies and our weakness is going to further embolden them. Europe followed this trajectory because we provided for their defense. There is NOBODY that will provide for our defense except us.
