Tea Party Helps Cram Through Michigan Anti-Union “Right to Work” Law
IREHR ^ | 09 Dec 2012 | Ben Stewart

Ben Stewart presents an on-the-ground look at anti-union events in Michigan

Many arrived via the Walter Reuther Expressway from Detroit. Protestors donned hard hats, scrubs and overalls, chanting “Hey Hey! Ho Ho! Right to Work Has Got to Go!” As police lines held back the crowds of union members, and locked them out of the governors’ office building and the Capitol, the reality began to sink in. Michigan was going to be a “right to work” state.

No more than fifty Tea Party activists were visible on Thursday. Some took this as a sign of weak public support for the law. “Do you all see that big tent in front of the Capitol,” said a leader of one union, referring to a staging location used by Americans for Prosperity. “The Tea Party is over there. There’s about 5 people in there, so that’s how many people in Michigan want to see Right to Work.”

Nevertheless, Tea Party groups were crucial to pushing right to work on the agenda in a state where such legislation was unthinkable only a few years ago. As IREHR reported in September of last year, Tea Partiers have been steadily holding meetings, lobbying state legislators and training spokespeople in the fight for what they termed “freedom to work.”

The Yayhoos at Yahoo are reporting that the union knuckledraggers are saying they are going to get their REVENGE for Michigan standing up to them. If you live in Michigan and don’t already own a Louisville Slugger, I’d be getting one. The union types are all carrying a load in their Huggies and are getting ready to throw one of their childish tantrums.

so that’s how many people in Michigan want to see Right to Work.

Take a look inside the capitol building at the elected legislators. Yep, that's right, WE WON!.

BTW. My cousin hasn't been to work for a week due to his "Union duties".

RIGHT-wingers have real jobs and WORK.

Leftists don’t work and have time for all this nonsense. Hence why protestors have 90% been leftist.

TEA Party gets motivated enough to show up sometimes, the first real protesting ever by us CORRECT people.

This country is starting to look like an old black and white, gangster “B” movie. Where’s Eliot Ness when we need him?

Does anyone really think the Left will accept this law? It will be tied up in court challenges. Give Obama one more Supreme Court appointee ( read that left wing flunky) and all “Right to work” laws will be declared unconstitutional. Just another chapter in the decline and fall.

Not sure if I agree with the ruling or not, that being said it is now law. The legislators that voted for the law were ELECTED by the people of Michigan to make that law, not by the UAW, not the SEIU, not by O, not by Reid, not by Michael Moore, or any other elected/self-appointed entity. The castrated unions need to step aside and let the voice of the people speak.

If the unions hadn’t over played their hands and done such things as forcing family members caring for their OWN family members to pay union dues for services they did NOT receive (or pay dues for ANYTHING) then they wouldn’t be at this point...

I do believe the Tea Party will be Americas salvation, should it continue.

And to be supported.

Kicking Communists out of America, sounds like a plan to me.
