Gregory Kane: Is Jason Whitlock a 'blame whitey firster'?

Some background might be in order before I proceed. Whitlock wrote a piece recently just after Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend, then shot himself.

In his column Whitlock, an African-American, (yes, that is pertinent to this story) took National Football League officials to task for allowing a game between the Chiefs and the Carolina Panthers to be played on Sunday, Dec. 2, only one day after the shocking and horrifying murder-suicide.

Whitlock's column was passionate; it was eloquent; it was extremely well written. I didn't agree with much of it, but the column was indeed all these things.

It was so well done, in fact, that it inspired NBC sportscaster Bob Costas to quote from it during the Dec. 2 Sunday Night Football game that pitted the Philadelphia Eagles against the Dallas Cowboys.

Whitlock was sailing along just fine there, but then he had to TALK.

During a podcast with Roland Martin of CNN, Whitlock said he didn't go far enough in his column, in which he made clear his opposition to guns and support for gun control.

Then, this obviously intelligent man crossed the line that separates the reasonable from the truly daffy.

"You know, I did not go as far as I'd like to go because my thoughts on the [National Rifle Association] and America's gun culture, I believe the NRA is the new KKK."

No black American who has read the history of his people in this country could, with a clear conscience, support gun control. Whitlock apparently hasn't read that history; he hasn't read the history of the NRA either.

Washington Examiner columnist Jed Babbin more than adequately explained how wrong Whitlock was about his NRA/KKK gaffe in a recent column.

The response of the sports industry to the Belcher murder/suicide has one theme:

"Anyone or anything besides Jovan Belcher himself was responsible for Jovan Belcher's actions."

I wonder if Whitlock is advocating a ban on alcohol and cars now?

Okay, no guns for black people then. Does that work, Mr. Whitlock? It would cut the murder rate for young black men by maybe 75%, and be good for other people as well.

If that’s not enough, we can ban knives, cars, matches, shoes...

Will Whitlock come out against alcohol this week? Will he say that all these white beer brewers are the new KKK or will he blame the white auto companies who make cars too easy for drunken black guys to flip? Perhaps he and Costas will see the role of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY? Nawwwww

When will Jason Whitlock support national prohibition? I mean how many people are killed via negligent homicide as a result of drunk driving?

Has Jason Whitlock written a column advocating banning pro athelets from alcohol? How about banning alcohol sales at all sporting events, or maybe just at Cowboy stadium?

How about banning abortion scapels? How many Black infants are murdered every day by some White physician using such an instrument of death?

” the shocking and horrifying murder-suicide”

Should read: “the shocking and horrifying murder-self inflicted justice.”

Forget if the game should or should not have been played we should not be wasting one moment of time even using his name or image but concentrate on the victims. He is just another NFL thug, like OJ, who read one too many of his own press clippings and though it was all about him.

If guns kill people then spoons made me fat. Ban spoons and Paul Costa while you are at it.

took National Football League officials to task for allowing a game . . . to be played . . . only one day after the shocking and horrifying murder-suicide.

As the old saying goes, "The show must go on."

Besides, what good would it do to call even MORE attention to this whole despicable business? Are they supposed to HONOR murder/suicide/wife abuse? Would that put blacks in a better light?

"How about banning abortion scapels? How many Black infants are murdered every day by some White physician using such an instrument of death?"

Today, 70% of all Black pregnancies in this country end in an abortion.

Good graphic, but a better one would feature Michael Douglas in character as "D-FENS" in Falling Down.

Deathless line: "I'm the bad guy?"

Unspoken answer: "Yes, you are -- you worthless whitebread P.O.S."

Old-style Clark Kent eyeglasses, pocket protector and white shirt, defense-industry ("Old America") 9-to-5 job, engineering degree, 60's colloquialisms. What could be more ..... pathetic, more useless, more put him down, he's done and doesn't even know it?

The Hollywood Left as Social Darwinists -- relish the dissonance, it's classic.

The author says he agreed with Whitlock’s initial column. If that’s what he thinks, he an idiot, too.
