The Energy Policy Act of 2005 and then the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 both mandated increased us of (corn) ethanol gasoline which was a complete disaster, it was as stupid an idea as subprime loans for those with bad credit and no money was, another time bomb. It made us more dependent on oil not less because it is so inefficent and is dirty to produce.
I remember about 2005 as oil prices went up O Reilly bitching how we could become energy independent on mandated (corn) ethanol and my alarm bells rang..
At the time I knew there was no way it would work, but now Iowa corn farmers make sure we are prisoners to it. Burn the food supply is great idea
