Democrats threaten violence on Michigan House floor
Washington Examiner ^ | December 11 | Conn Carroll

Posted on 12/11/2012 9:26:46 AM PST by Kaslin

“There will be blood,” State Representative Douglas Geiss threatened from the floor of the Michigan House of Representatives today as the body debated legislation that would make Michigan the nation’s 24th right to work state.

“I really wish we had not gone here,” Geiss continued. “It is the leadership in this house that has led us here. The same leadership that tried to throw a bomb right on election day, leading to a member switching parties, and came in at the 11th hour with a gotcha bill. For that, I do not see solace, I do not see peace.”

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder had previously said he had no interest in signing right to work legislation this term, but that has changed as unions have made it increasingly more difficult to govern the state. The Detroit Free Press‘ Tom Walsh explains:

Public employee unions opposed Snyder’s moves to put more teeth into emergency manager laws that would enable swifter action to rescue cities and school districts that bungled themselves into insolvency.

In Detroit, Mayor Dave Bing and a spineless City Council were stonewalled by employee unions at every turn, slow-walking needed reforms and cost-cutting while the city burned through cash at a frightening rate.

As a result, Snyder’s patient attempt to help fix Detroit via consent agreement instead of imposing an emergency manager has failed.
To top it off, Snyder found himself having to fight off Proposal 2, the ill-advised November ballot attempt to stuff a bag of goodies for organized labor into the Michigan Constitution.

Michigan has both the highest unionization and unemployment rates in the Midwest. You can watch the House debate live here.

“There will be blood,”

Maybe he's talking about a typical day in Detroit?

Just because their king got elected again, these clowns thought it would be 4 years of smooth sailing LOL. I have witnessed so many times in my life when I was working in unionized companies someone actually saying “waitaminute, you are taking how much again from my paycheck?”

“Black people cannot run Africa, how can you expect one to run something complicated like the US of A?”

Isn’t that the truth! Pick any city that’s run by Blacks and you will see chaos, corruption, and failure. In Africa, they can’t manage to build anything taller than a one-story mud hut. But worst of all are the “Black Educators.” Now there’s an oxymoron!

Fox News just said the House passed it.

Cool.
Now get it signed by the governor at the legally correct, soonest moment and tell the union pinky rings to go play in the street.

As I understand it, this law only forces businesses to offer jobs to non-union members too. It does not stop people who want to be a member of a union, from joining one.

Imagine the government locking out union members from jobs. The Left would have a fit.

When that is reversed though, they are thrilled to lock out non-union members, who want jobs.

The Left can never live by the same rules it applies to everyone else.

The only thing left to do is for the Democrats in the legislature to flee the state to prevent a quorum for voting.

That's SOP now, right?

Yep, there they go again like a bunch of raped apes only it isn't rape. It's more like knowing how it feels to be rejected and not being able to deal with it.

Race has nothing to do with competence !

I would gladly have J.C. Watts running my city over who I have now.

Please remember ideology and character are what makes a person not the color of their skin !

Since Right to Work passed in Wisconsin, union membership and dues have evaporated.

If Michigan follows, the unions are going to be reduced to the size of a barking chihuahua. Imagine the impact on the unions in Michigan’s car factories. Wheee.

My husband’s union “friends” on Facebook were celebrating (in typical union thug fashion) sending Ryan back to the House.

I didn’t have the heart to tell them that as VP he couldn’t do anything to their union contracts... but they sent him right back to where he COULD do some damage as an influential member of the House... and I sincerely hope he does.
