Obama administration launches housing PSA

The Obama administration is launching a new public service announcement campaign aimed at struggling homeowners.

“While communities across the country are beginning to recover from an unprecedented housing crisis, too many families are still struggling with their mortgage payments and are unsure of where to turn for help,” said Treasury undersecretary for domestic finance Mary Miller in a statement. “Millions of homeowners have gotten help to avoid foreclosure since 2009. We want to make sure struggling homeowners know today that there are free government resources available to help homeowners avoid foreclosure.”

It's the administration's latest attempt to deal with housing —the sector of the U.S. economy that helped usher in the 2009 recession and global credit crunch.

The ad emphasizes an Obama administration housing initiative called the Making Home Affordable Program that allows homeowners a way to lower their monthly payments, avoid foreclosure or temporarily suspend their mortgage payments.

Has anyone else noted a steady stream of ads on radio these days? Seems like almost 1/2 of all radio ads these days are “public service” ads. Who pays for all that? Anti-bullying, anti-buzz drinking, some song for women’s heart attack awareness, etc.

The purpose of this is to make the public expect housing as a “right” and an entitlement.

Not much more to go and we’re a full fledged communist country.

But, it was the "Bush tax cuts" that caused the recession, right?
