LIFE MAGAZINE'S SPECIAL EDITION ON JESUS
Life Magazine ^ | November 2012 | Life Magazine

At our church's Christmas Musical, there was a video presentation of one of the leaders and he held up a copy of Life magazine's November special issue entitled "JESUS" with a picture of Jesus and the sub title "Who Do You Say That I Am?" I then saw this on the magazine rack at the checkout at the store, so I purchased it and while I haven't gotten through it all yet, I was impressed that one of our oldest Magazines in America chose this Christmas season to put out THE Issue that asks the Question that may be the key to REVIVAL in America.

I encourage everyone here to go out and purchase atleast 1 copy, perhaps buy several copies for Christmas gifts, and forward this to others via facebook, blogs, etc. The heart of America and indeed the world truly needs to ask this question that was asked by Jesus over 2000 years ago "Who Do YOU Say That I AM?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Smells like a cheap gimmick to get people to buy their crumby mag.

I will NOT waste the money. 1. The article is most certainly riddled with negative and/or erroneous baloney about The Savior.

And 2. I will not help to financially prop up an organization such as Time/Life, which hates the very concept of God, hates America as-founded, and was complicit in the cover-up that resulted in our current and future Impostor-in-Chief!

Plus, there is a FAR superior way to learn Who Jesus is. It’s called The New Testament.

While checking out at the super market recently, I was tempted to purchase copies of their magazines on Lincoln and/or Kennedy, but decided not to do it. Let the traitorous bahstids KEEP their anti-American rags!

One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village, the son of a peasant woman.

He grew up in another village, where he worked in a carpenter’s shop until he was thirty. Then for three years he became a wandering preacher.

He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a house. He didn’t go to college. He never visited a big city. He never travelled two hundred miles from the place where he was born. He did none of those things one usually associates with greatness.

He had no credentials but himself.

He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to his enemies and went through a mockery of a trial. He was executed by the state. While he was dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing, the only property he had on earth. When he was dead he was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today he is the central figure of the human race and the leader of mankind’s progress. All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that One Solitary Life.

He's in the old one too.

They could easily put out a companion cover with Obama. Headline WHAT IS “TRUTH”?

Jesus doesn’t need TIME to promote him. At Christmas, at Easter...ever. He holds the universe together by his powerful word.

I bet their sells soar on this issue. When you finish the article, would you tell us your impression of the article.

I'll wait to hear what others think before I buy it, but I think it is a great idea if it really presents the story of Jesus. Let us know what you think. Are the pushing an agenda or not.

You beat me to it!

Search the scriptures (OT); for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39)
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? (John 5:46,47)

Jesus says this to the unbelieving Jews of his day.

You and I know that. But even Born Again Believers, if they are fairly recently saved, will have tough going in the OT. As Paul said, They are not capable of digesting steak and lobster tail; they can only handle “the milk of the word.” such as The Gospel of John.

Someone who is merely searching, but as yet is not Born Again, will have an even tougher time with the OT. They need to start by reading John’s Gospel, as well. IMHO, of course. And the last thing EITHER of them need is to read as bunch of unbelieving psychobabble in a leftist magazine by someone who wouldn’t know God if He walked up and shook hands, wearing a nametag!
