The rule of law no longer applies, or is applied only selectively. In either case, government at all levels has abrogated its responsibility to protect peaceful, law-abiding citizens. In so doing, it has also surrendered its moral authority to govern.

law abiding citizens shouldn’t give the responsibility of protecting themselves to governments or anyone else. Learn to protect yourself

I know that you know this but just for giggles and grins - Applying the rule of law selectively is a contradiction in terms.

If it’s being applied selectively it’s no longer the rule of law! (It’s essentially a variant of “Driving while black”).

But then again, you already know this - just furthering your already excellent post.
