MELVINDALE, Mich. (WJBK) -- It's a video seen all over the world. An attack on a Fox News contributing reporter at the right to work protest in Lansing earlier this week was caught on video.
Now, one of the union members seen in the footage is speaking out to FOX 2.
By now, almost everybody knows who he is, reporter Steven Crowder, the guy who got sucker-punched outside a pitch tent where the pro-right to work crowd had gathered. (See the video above in the upper right corner)
"I'm under rested and overworked right now and still tough enough to take the union's greatest punch," said Crowder during an interview on 'Hannity' Wednesday. "And the leftists are saying that I deserved the beating that I got, completely and physically unprovoked."
The demonstration was so far from dull. There was quite a commotion, complete with cursing and all sorts of carrying on.
"Get the (expletive) out of my face," one man repeatedly says to Crowder during the skirmish.
Who is he? "I am the vice-griever for Local 1299, United Steelworkers," says Wheeler Marsee.
He's also a City Council member in Melvindale, a downriver suburb of Detroit. He tells FOX 2 he and a few friends came to participate in a peaceful protest against right to work. And things were all good, until they weren't. "There was people up there that were rebel-rousing the crowd," says Marsee. "The next thing I knew, I had the gentleman in question right up in my face. The video didn't give it justice because he was the aggressor."

WTF is a “vice-griever”?!!? It’s his job to hand out grief when the official Griever is not available??
The guy is part of the problem. Unions are electing school boards and city councils. No wonder they’re so angry about choices.
Union thug creep. From the way he acts, he has major anger issues. Did it because he was “passionate” about the Union. Scary beyond words, and he’s a council member. People like this should be no where near a board.
Recall if you will the union Chrysler workers that were busted for smoking pot on the job.
The “vice-griever” cries at the gross misconduct of the company when they bust the stoners. Being a sensitive guy, he can also cry over spilt milk

Why has he not been arrested for assault?

I understand your decisions.
But these communists are going to escalate the violence to get what they want.
It will take some extreme violence to put them back into the ‘civil’ mindset.
And yes, I do believe we have a right to petition our government and to protest without the fear of being attacked by these communists, and I believe that right includes the right of using extreme violence to protect that right.
It has been by appeasing the violence that tyrannical groups use that has enabled such tyrants as the Islamofascists to become the tyrants they are.
Inexcusable that there have been no arrests in this violent assault against Crowder.
