Speeding tickets generate revenue for the city or county in which theyre issued. If the police department is low on revenue, theyll set up a speed trap on a busy road and lie in wait for the non-violent speed violators. If the city is really desperate, theyll invest in a speed camera system that will be distributed around the city and send citations to the registered owners of the alleged speeding vehicles. And if theyre still not happy with the money theyre making, theyll start issuing speeding tickets to people who arent even speeding.
In Baltimore, Maryland, theyve generated over $48 million in revenue in the past three years since they implemented their speed camera system. But from all the 1.7 million citations issued, there were bound to be some faulty tickets.
One Baltimore driver was parked at a red light, and the two photos on the speeding citation that he received in the mail clearly show his car not moving at all. He even saw the video of when the camera snapped the pictures, and his car was motionless. Yet he got a ticket for going 38mph in a 25mph zone.

Fought one of these in Tx ... and won.
Know the law, there are exceptions e.g. road conditions incl. heavy rain, snow, sleet etc ... but you’ll have to attend a ‘session’ with the hearing officer, so bring a friend to observe. Dress like lawyers (or at least engineers and ONLY address the facts.)
I got one of those - cost me $40 for going 68 in a construction zone where there was no construction at all! But then I figured - hell if its only $40 might as well keep going 80 along with all the other cars on the interstate!
My Electra Glide has the license plate tucked up under the tour pack so tight that even human toll takers can’t see it. Every time I cross into Canada the people at the border crossing have to come out of the booth to see my plate! And I KNOW I have passed speed cameras at well over the speed limit on my Harley, and even saw it flash, yet haven’t seen a ticket yet!
Maybe they see it’s a Harley, and they don’t want to mess with you. :-)
Not so much true here in FL. According to St. Pete city council, they paid $900,000 for the system and only made $600,000 in the first year. They missed revenue expectations by quite a large margin.

If the city cleared $600k the camera company made $1.8M ,, don’t you worry they’ll shorten the yellows just enough to get deep into the black on the camera revenue... besides the cameras last more than a year...
As if more proof is needed...Maryland is THE Freak State.
HAHAHahahahaha (John Waters)
Most people pay off a house that cost 1/3 of that in 30 years, they will pay off that system in 1 1/2
I was thinking the same thing. We will have to become bolder and begin underground resistance. There is no way we can prevail against a propaganda state. Therefore it is non-violent guerilla warfare
