Left Mobilizes to Politicize School Shooting

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: A terrible and awful thing has happened in Connecticut at a school in Newtown, Connecticut, I'm told. A shooting at a school, 26 people dead, including 18 children. It's just awful. It is terrible, incomprehensible. But I'm gonna tell you something. As we sit here at this very moment, you know it and I know it, there are liberals trying to find a way to blame this on conservatives and Republicans. It may sound a little hard-edged to say that, but I've lived through these things for 25-plus years.

Every such incident as this, even Hurricane Katrina, they tried to blame on Bush. We actually had people saying he didn't care. He wanted to steer it if he could have to get rid of the population there. So we shall soon see. It won't be long. Gabby Giffords shooting, you name it. Any incident like this. There was the Dark Knight Rises shooting in Aurora, Colorado. Brian Ross, ABC News, blamed it on the Tea Party. So it may sound a little hard-edged to say it, but I'm telling you, there are elements of the mainstream media who are doing everything they can, their number one objective is to see if there's anything they can blame on conservative media or Republican policies or the Second Amendment. I don't care what it is, you know that that's coming. I just want to get it out there and prepare you for it.

RUSH: Even as I was explaining and reacting to this horrible shooting in Newtown, Connecticut... Maybe, what, 14, 16, 18 children are dead. Some are only four or five years old. Even as I was saying/predicting that the left/the media were trying to figure out how they could blame this on conservatives -- or politicize it, turn it into an event to advance their agenda...

As I was saying that, a hostette at MSNBC, Alex Wagner, said, "Hopefully, this shooting will result in political capital to reform gun laws. It is hopefully -- and we say this every single time we cover one of these things. There's gotta be some kind of measurable change, some kind of reaction. One would hope there would be some political capital to reform the way in which we handle gun and gun violence in this country."

So they're already calculating. That's what so peeves me about these people. You've got a horrible event here, and they're already looking to politicize it. It's not what it is. It's an opportunity! These people look at stuff like this as an opportunity (it's sickening) to advance their agenda or blame conservatives. The shooter's dead. CBS says a second person is in custody. Jay Carney, the White House spokesman, has already been asked if the shooting will help advance gun control.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: By the way, to all you leftists who, in a sickening fashion, are trying to conceive ways to politicize this just awful incident in Newtown, Connecticut, trying to find a way to get rid of guns, trying to find a way to politicize this and advance your agenda, let me just point out we had guns 30, 40, 50, a hundred years ago, and we didn't have mass murders every other month.

So what's changed? It is not the number of guns that's changed. If you people on the left are so eager to control things, we actually need some values control. We actually need some social guardrails. I don't even know if that would eliminate stuff like this. We don't know why yet, purpose, reason. The psychological community is eagerly trying to understand this, too.

That's another aspect of this. "We must dig deep, Mr. Limbaugh into the psyche of the shooter to find out what it is that makes them do these things. We must learn."

Why?

"Well, so that we can attempt to prevent such behavior, recognize it in certain people and prevent it from happening in the future."

What would you do if you recognized it? Before they picked up the gun and started firing away, what would you do?

"Well, of course, that would depend on the nearest jail, Mr. Limbaugh."

Here's Piers Morgan, British import, CNN. He just tweeted: "Nothing happened after Aurora. Now it must." We don't even know what happened yet. We know the end result of what happened, but we don't know anything about this yet, and the left is already mobilized. As they always will and always do, they try to politicize the event for their advantage, mobilize down their anti-gun highway.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Well, now CNN says that the number of people killed at the Newtown, Connecticut, school is closer to 30, and a federal law enforcement official says that most of the dead are children. And even as we speak, the Drive-By Media and the Democrats are attempting to politicize the issue to advance their own agenda. In this case, probably an assault on the Second Amendment again. I guarantee you that they are overturning everything they can in their quest to be able to blame this on Republicans. This, to them, is an opportunity. At least to the Democrat media people that are tweeting and Facebooking on this, they are excited about it. Oh, yes, it's a golden opportunity. It's sick.

When are these idiots going top wake up and realize that guns do not kill? It’s people who kill.

The news won’t be worth watching for a week or so. Non-stop gun control propaganda. Very little about the actual murderer.

You can ban guns...but you can’t ban crazy...

IMO, you said it all right there.

As this implies, it covers the gunman, the Left in general, and the gun banners.

According to Krauthammer, Connecticut has the fourth most stringent gun control laws of any state. This should have made it impossible for the violence at the school to take place.

Gun laws don't work. They merely make victims of those without guns.

While the Florida GOP continues to move more left...it is good to see Michigan GOP show some leadership. Congrats

You are absolutely right and it’s the availability of ‘time’ that really makes it dangerous.

...what makes anyone think that they wouldn’t try to push a few disturbed individuals over the edge? especially if said individuals already were taking heavy doses of anti depressants, or some other drug, and/or had already had behavior problems?

I've got no empirical proof, but gut instinct, a ton of observation of the political left, and the disturbing emergence of an eerily similar profile in these cases, tells me that the theory isn't without merit.

I'm beginning to believe that at least some of these bad actors have been programmed to carry out these heinous assassinations in order to push public opinion in the direction of stronger gun control, and ultimately, complete disarmament of the American population.

Once that's achieved, the enslavement of our people will be complete.

I wish Piers Morgan would shut up. And we do not need to politicize this either.

“...we do not need to politicize this either.”

You’re saying that we should concede the public debate to the left and let them say whatever they want while we sit silent? Because the ship already sailed on this being a political issue. The left already went there.

On another forum I’ve got about 20 leftists saying the same thing to me that conservatives should “STFU” and not ‘make a political issue’ out of their cries for ‘reasonable gun controls’.

Since you’re not-so-slyly saying the same thing I’m left to wonder if you’re one of them.

Fox News has reported he was “dressed in black” as was the CO theatre shooter. Is it possible that both of them are connected with the Anarchist “Black Block” offshoot of OWS?

There was a suggested connection on the CO Theatre shooter. No public statement admitting a connection to OWS. (You would expect none)

I am saying no one should bring politics into this discussion. This has absolutely nothing to do with politics. Not one thing.

Step in the right direction. We need someone there to defend the kids.

I also advocate panic buttons in all schools like they have in banks and planned responses by local police. And I honestly think some of those stupid education programs should be dropped and the money used for school security. These damn Congress Critters have one line and one line only, gun control. How about some real solutions?

Every mass murderer has to be labeled with a mental malady.

There can be no plain evil people. This way we can blame some nebulus thing or entity, parents, video games, drugs, ADHD,or someone was “bullied”.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.

We need to ban public schools. Especially the high capacity ones.

Liberals were outraged again today when the legislature voted than any abortion clinic that performs more than 120 abortions per year has to be licensed and have an actual doctor in attendance.

Just another horrifying attack on women’s rights. /s
