Bloomberg: Obama Must Take 'Immediate Action' Against Guns
Breitbart ^ | 12/14/12 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 12/15/2012 5:41:48 AM PST by crosshairs

Today, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an ardent gun control advocate, moved to politicize the monstrous school shooting in Connecticut, issuing the following statement: With all the carnage from gun violence in our country, it’s still almost impossible to believe that a mass shooting in a kindergarten class could happen. It has come to that.

Not even kindergarteners learning their A,B,Cs are safe. We heard after Columbine that it was too soon to talk about gun laws. We heard it after Virginia Tech. After Tucson and Aurora and Oak Creek. And now we are hearing it again. For every day we wait, 34 more people are murdered with guns. Today, many of them were five-year olds. President Obama rightly sent his heartfelt condolences to the families in Newtown. But the country needs him to send a bill to Congress to fix this problem. Calling for ‘meaningful action’ is not enough. We need immediate action. We have heard all the rhetoric before. What we have not seen is leadership – not from the White House and not from Congress. That must end today. This is a national tragedy and it demands a national response. My deepest sympathies are with the families of all those affected, and my determination to stop this madness is stronger than ever. If Bloomberg’s deepest sympathies were with the family, he wouldn’t use this as an opportunity to get on his soapbox about gun control. We don’t know all the facts of the case yet, Connecticut has some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the country, and it seems that the shooter obtained his guns legally.

“We’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.” President Obama.

Gun control advocates celebrate..

see immediate nationwide confiscation of guns from law-abiding citizens.. criminals later (if it's not too difficult).

Speaking about gun owners

Hot damn! We got 'em on the lam!

they cheered repeatedly.

BTW, in that photo of the President "weeping" that the MSM employees flaunt did they photoshop Obama's middle finger and show his index finger instead? Doesn't he usually use his middle finger publicly?

This stuff happens in countries with gun control.

Concise summary of my thoughts on this, Mulberry.

Former President Bill Clinton made it illegal to possess a firearm on the grounds of a public school back in the 90s effectively disarming parents coming to retrieve their children, teachers, janitors, and administrators in the event of a school shooting. The deaths of these children is a direct consequence, unintended if you wish, of the Left's war on our right to self-defense.

"Check your guns at the door. We will NOT be providing armed guards on campus. It is believed that all who come to this campus will abide by the laws as created by the Federal government."

Yet... someone did not. One child, bent out of his mind on some anti-psychotic, anti-depression, anti-sociopathic drugs prescribed by the same people who are telling our children that sex with adults and esp. those of the same gender as yourself is okay. The same adults who are removing God from our moral fiber. The same adults who, day after day, indoctrinate our children to believe that "there is only one God, and it is government, and you have nothing to fear because that God can be everywhere and see everything and will always protect you."

Well guess what, kids? Your God failed you. Your God is merely an imperfect entity deriving its power through fiat and tyranny. Your God is not benevolent and cannot protect you.

Yesterday is exactly the reality that Leftists, Socialists, Communists, Progressives, Fabians, pick-your-ethos wants out of our nation. They want cowering babies in the corners of classrooms. Shot point blank, one by one, by a child who is mentally unwound. They want you to cower and hope for a miracle bullet from a cop or a soldier who isn't there. And when you're dead, they'll use your body as a way of further degrading the rights of those among us who believe in One God, the Father the Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth. We believe your teacher, janitors, and administrators should have been armed. They should have been prepared for this with weapons available to all adults with the mental stability to possess them.

In the middle of the 20th century, it was common for kids to bring their plinking rifles, .22LR for the most part, to their schools, store them in their lockers, and either go afield to varmint hunt or into the basement to shoot trap after every school day. Scores were settled on playgrounds with fists, and the worst beatings ended when one person was down with no more than a bloody nose, fat lip, or black eye. Parents derided one another for the audacious behavior of their children, and those children were summarily punished.

Folks, the Connecticut shooting is nothing more and nothing less than an unintended consequence of the Left's continued assault on our RIGHT to defend ourselves. No unarmed child, teacher, janitor, or administrator would have been able to stop a madman with guns on a rampage. Hell, in China, they couldn't stop a madman with knives on a rampage. And no matter how much we ask, "Why?" The answer will never come to us, because we are simply not capable of understanding the psychoses required to think that this sort of behavior is acceptable.

And yet here we are. The Left, led by the Lord God Obama, will mandate that all pistols be turned in. All "non-sporting purpose" rifles be turned in. They will mandate that ammunition be locked down and more expensive than gold. They will mandate that "assault rifles" be banned from civilian ownership across the nation. Well guess what, Obama, and you imbecilic leftist dolts: those very same mandates passed in some form or another in the past are the very reason why we're sitting here having this discussion today. The more you restrict law-abiding, freedom-loving adults from being able to protect themselves, their families, and I daresay your lunatic liberal asses from the deranged screwballs like this drug-addled child, the more deaths of children and adults alike will be on the shoulders of every single one of you!

We need bumper stickers that say "Archie Bunker was RIGHT!"

The problem is not availability of guns; the TRUE problem is the parenting methods of the last 30-50 odd years. Ever since Dr. Spock came out with his travesty on parenting, government has increasingly equated all correction of children with "abuse."

What were once known as character flaws inherent in children such as selfishness, lying, impatience, rudeness, etc. that parents had the obligation to train their children away from, are now labeled "disorders."

The child is then given drugs instead of discipline where the same character flaws malinger in the background, grow with age and often co-mingle with the potent narcotics they are prescribed.

To go after REAL child abuse is politically incorrect/viewed as racist and highly dangerous to pursue by the various agencies supposedly set up to quell it.

-——You REALLY want an excuse for them to put the TSA at every school?-——

Locally, there are door locks and restricted entry to at least, high schools. A sheriff’s deputy controls entry.

At least once a shoot out occurred between the deputy and an intruder that was won by the deputy. No one died but the intruder was wounded and apprehended.

Bloomberg should give up his security detail first.

Not insane - pragmatic. The governments mandate that children go to these soft targets yet does nothing to protect them. 3000 people died on 9-11 and a whole new bureaucracy was establish to prevent it from happening again (at least that is what we were told). An armed security presence should be in every school in the land and it is up to the politicians to protect those they are making vulnerable by their very laws.

One could argue Political Correctness is at issue in that our liberal pc-driven society has taken all the mentally ill out of the hospitals and institutions, drugged them up and turned them loose on society.

Bloomberg has issues with things, and he projects these neuroses on other people.

For example, he used to smoke, and his doctors told him it was bad for him, so his response is to prevent other people from smoking.

He also puts so much salt on his food that other people describe it as “inedible”. His doctors told him that it is bad for him, so his response is to stop other people from eating salt.

And in this case, he is terrified of being assassinated, so he surrounds himself with a heavily armed phalanx of killers, yet wants to ban anyone else from having guns to defend themselves, because they might decide to use them against him.

Given this pattern, New Yorkers should pray every night that he is sexually happy, because if he isn’t able to express his lustful urges, he will either try to outlaw other people having sex, or at least heavily tax it.

New York’s Mayor Bloomberg continues to confuse himself with the President of the United States - or possibly Napoleon.

Once upon a time, they locked up psychopaths who went around as Napoleon; nowadays, we elect them to office.

Weapons are smuggled into prisons every day, yet these craven politicians are not above exploiting dead children for the illusion of more gun laws as the solution.

As Archie Bunker might have said, “Geeeez there, Meathead, Dr. Spock wasn’t any good in that show...what was it, ‘Star Struck’ What’re we doin’ listen’ to him bellyache about parents? It’s not the parents’ fault they have these kids!”

"Somebody must take immediate action against the free-roaming mentally ill - such as the lunatic who pushed a man to his death under the subway train last week in Bloomberg’s New York."

BINGO! Of ALL the school massacres that have occurred in US history, only TWO occurred prior to 1972*, and the movement to deinstitutionalize the mentally ill from psychiatric hospitals.

(*Bath, Michigan in 1927 and Charles Whitman/U Texas in 1966)

They'll say Adam Lanza "fell through the cracks", but the cracks have turned into canyons and only exist because the lawyers, judges and politicians put them there.

cute.

I still maintain that due to militant "feminism" in blue states has lead to the last 30-50 years anti-father "family" court system and the destruction of the family as was once known (adults call the shots, children obey).

Take dad and/or discipline out of a child's life and you have today's mommy-coddled "EMO" children. Spoiled rotten, wussie, self-centered, hopped upon anti-depressants, ADHD/Autism/Aspergers/O.D.D. (opositional defiance disorder--previously known as a tan-trum) narcotics, overly emotional, drama kings and queens with A.S.S. (Adult Spousal Status) IOW all the privileges of adulthood with none of the responsibilities. Sexually promiscous without thought of consequences due the mistaken tendency of today's parent to protect their children from such consequences in all matters

A spoiled child is never happy but permanently depressed; nor is a child who is let in on all the adult decisions as is commonplace today(should we have another child, where should we live, which house, tv, appliances should we buy; et al)

“Oh, you mean the gun-grabbing RATs? I agree.”

Well, them too, but what I meant primarily are the mentally ill people who are walking timebombs. I sympathize with anyone who’s ill, and their loved ones; but the system has been practicing “catch, medicate, release” with them for years now and in a lot of cases it just ain’t working. Those are the people who end up on the street, in prison, or dead.

NO!

We must train and arm ALL law-abiding citizens. Those who cannot afford a quality sidearm must have one provided at taxpayers’ expense! We must construct ranges and provide FREE ammo so citizens can keep their shooting skills current. We must implement nationwide “2nd Amendment” carry so that private citizens may be armed where ever they go. We must implement nationwide “Castle Doctrine” and “No Duty to Retreat.” Criminals must be made to know that where ever they go, people are armed against them and may kill them without penalty. There must be no place where a criminal is safe, except prison. ESPECIALLY schools...

If it saves JUST ONE LIFE, it will be worth it!

Bloomberg should worry about NY instead of Conneticut. Over a month has passed and he still hasn’t demanded Obama take action against hurricanes
