Facts of crime reveal shooter violated at least 3 statutes already in place
In the wake of the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Conn., voices across nation, and indeed across the globe, have been calling for stricter gun-control laws.
Yet what gun-control measure could have prevented this crime?
The state of Connecticut already has certain gun-control laws in place, at least three of which the shooter broke, as he could have only obtained the weapons through illegal means.
According to news reports, Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother Nancy Lanza dead at their family home before driving to the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, where he gunned down more than two dozen people, 20 of them children, and then killed himself.
The Associated Press reports Lanza brought three guns into the school: a Glock pistol, a Sig Sauer pistol and Bushmaster rifle, which the New York Post further reports was a semi-automatic assault rifle chambered for a .223 caliber round, matching casings found at the crime scene.

Lanza, therefore, if you count theft, murder and breaking and entering since CBS New York now reports it likely Lanza broke into the school through a window to circumvent a locked-door and intercom security system would have violated a half-dozen laws in his crime, including the following gun-control statutes:
First, Connecticut law requires a person be over 21 to possess a handgun. Lanza was 20.
Second, Connecticut requires a permit to carry a pistol on ones person, a permit Lanza did not have.
Third, it is unlawful in Connecticut to possess a firearm on public or private elementary or secondary school property, a statute Lanza clearly ignored.
Fourth, with details on the Bushmaster rifle still sketchy, its possible

no, lunatic control laws failed Connecticut’s children. they also failed seattle’s children, and arizona’s children . . .
dangerously demented people belong in institutions, but our “kumbaya” society can’t stomach the notion of hurting people’s little feelings, and this is the price we pay.
Wow, I didn’t know you could the trigger 5 times in a second on a glock. /sarcasm off!
When ever something like this happens, I cannot stop thinking back on 9/11. No amount of gun control could have prevented that. Should we outlaw planes and box-cutters? If an unstable person (including religious zealots) want to kill someone, the find a way. I think the media is far more at fault for these type of killings. They tend to glorify the killer. Delve into his life. Try to find a reason. I could go on and on. I think these guys kill to be noticed. They are usually loners . Attention seems to be something they crave. In the end, the more people they kill, the more famous they become. They seem to be finding more horrific ways to put their stamp on society. If the media refused to print his name or show his picture, these killings would end. It would banish these monsters to eternal anonymity. I blame the media more than anyone else for giving these people a vehicle to achieve notoriety they crave at the expense of our little ones. They have blood on their hands.
logic and reality does not matter to emotionalistic libtards. The fact that it makes them feel good to pass more gun control laws, whether they work or not, is what matters to them.
This is why I call “gun free zones” Killing fields, because they so often are........
If everyone knew that every school had an armed person inside, chances are, these killings would stop immediately.
Instead of a “Gun Free Zone” sign posted outside of the school, there should be one saying: “Armed guards on duty.”
Just MHO, of course.
This is why I call gun free zones Killing fields, because they so often are........
You are so right. It’s almost an invitation to these monsters.
Murders in 2010: 12,996 murders, 8775 by firearms, 7,340 when you subtract out felonies and suspected felonies.
Vehicular deaths in 2010: 32,885.
In 2010, what percentage of the the population (308,745,538) ...
died by auto: 0.0106512%, a little more than 1/100 of a percent.
died by firearm, not while committing a felony: 0.0023774%, a little less than 2.4 thousandths of a percent.
I'm sure there are probably a few more.
See below - straight from the Brady Center State Score Card Website. Ignorant, hypocritical @$$holes.
Connecticut has strong gun laws that help combat the illegal gun market, prevent the sale of most guns without background checks and reduce risks to children, according to the Brady Campaign.
The Gun Control Laws didn’t fail, the State of Connecticut, the politicians and gun grabbers failed to insure the safety of the children and neglected their responsibility to do so by passing the laws. I blame the State of Connecticut for creating a kill zone environment and doing nothing about it.
This is the gun control law they are working towards:
It is illegal for anyone to buy, sell or possess any kind of firearm under any circumstances.
Our school system is a horror show social experiment, it needs to be ended. BY discussing gun control we allow the left to keep their hands on basically reeducation camps that use our children like lab rats.
I came up with several scenarios in which someone could have taken the lives of this number of children and none of them involved firearms and one of the scenarios would have virtually guaranteed the attacker an opportunity to get away........
And FWIW, each could be countered by a teacher or bus driver who chose to be trained in firearms and armed.........
Failure to comply will be punishable by a minimum of 20 years in prison.
Wrong. Mental Health laws in Connecticut failed those innocent children. That fellow should have been locked away in a mental hospital. I am sure there were signs he was about to flip. If he didn’t use a gun—it would have been something else—a bomb, or fire, or a car, or sword, knife, or who knows what. We got to look at the person behind the act—not the tool they used. We are doing these nut cases no good by letting them run around loose. They need help! This killing was a cry for help!
