Schools on Lockdown this morning (vanity)

Posted on 12/17/2012 8:22:38 AM PST by TigerClaws

Hearing online (not verified) a school in San Antonio received a phone threat and went on lockdown.

A school in Baton Rouge had a vehicle nearby filled with ammunition and went on lockdown.

Any others?

Good week to start home schooling!

We heard from a friend in San Antonio that their child's school is on lock down with 75 police AND army vehicles. They received an email that "everything is under control, and NOT to come for their child". Scary.

What's up with all of this? Copycats?

Banks have armed guards. Why don’t our schools? Aren’t our kids more valuable than gold to us?? Train teachers how to shoot and arm them and/or hire armed protective services (not TSA or Homeland Security).

Any while your at it; start up insane asylums again.

It could be some dumbass kids wanting to get out of school. Though it could be a copycat as well, looking for some notoriety. The media is sure doing a good job of 24/7 coverage. Enticing for a nutjob...

Outlaw bombs. Oh wait, they're already outlawed.
No need to worry about guns. Guns are outlawed in schools, too. Because they're not allowed, they're the safest place on earth to be. Any gun free zone is - or so we've been told.

(If guns were the problem, every hunter in America would be a mass murderer by now.)

Every loon and attention seeker is now looking for his fifteen minutes of fame. The very worst thing the media can do is run the killers picture 24/7...

Most likely, copycats. Anytime you have a massacre that is being so widely reported in the media, copycats are inevitable, sad to say.

I presume whoever is making these threats probably thinks they’re just the funniest damn thing since Henny Youngman.

Fail.

Or an anti-arms activist group taking advantage of the situation and trying to drum up more outrage. "Never waste a good crises."

Believe it or not, I was actually expecting it. For them, there's never been a better time. People are vulnerable right now. (Kick them when they're down)

....dumbass kids wanting to get out of school.

Could be that as well, though I suspect it’s an attention-seeking, lonely twerp looking for his 15 minutes.

I worked at a distribution center, and every Wednesday, when my crew’s workweek began, without fail we’d get a bomb threat. Of course, the bomb squad had to come and make sure it was nothing. This lasted for two months! They never did find out who was doing it, actually. It was someone calling from different payphones. But it was always five or ten minutes before the shift was supposed to begin.

It shut us down for about five or six hours.....big distribution center with tons of racks. Pain in the butt. Oh well.....at least we got paid for it.

I have two kids in the Granbury ISD, Granbury, TX.
They are not on lockdown, but are on high alert this morning after a threat of violence at the ISD H.S.
My children are elementary age and the parents are on high alert as well.

Now if they would use all this givernment money to ACTUALLY LOCK UP LUNATICS then there would be less of this problem

but the only criteria for getting govt free money is whether they can count on you as a democrap voter

Expect the media to keep doing this...They want all obstacles removed for when King Obama announces that the peasants aren’t allowed to arm themselves.

A better comparison would be schools and courthouses.

Ridgefield CT school on lockdown:

The police have left the Baton Rouge school. Cleared. Someone just had ammo in a car from hunting apparently.
