In Recent Years, a Drop in Public Support for Gun Control Laws
Tecaucus ^ | MARJORIE CONNELLY

Posted on 12/17/2012 1:23:10 PM PST by An Old Man

Support for gun control measures has steadily dropped over the last decade, and previous mass shootings had little effect on public opinion about gun laws. It is too early to tell if the age and the number of the victims in the killings in Newtown, Conn., will now have an impact on attitudes toward gun control.

Concealed carry has been passing in state after state.

In some form, in all states but one.

Unfortunately, I live in that one.

Thank you! I did not make my accusation without being extremely serious in my accusations! Is Law Enforcement finally going to arrest those who are so corrupt most of Us can’t fathom their corruption and Treasonous Actions against Our America!
Why is Obama HUSSEIN’S entire biographical History totally Hidden and Blinded from America? Why would the Media not question everything about a Republican and nothing about Obama HUSSEIN?

It needs to go beyond the “allow” idea and into require.

My daughter teaches high school in a concealed carry state (Missouri) but she would lose her job if caught carrying in her school, the one place where it could absolutely come in handy.

(She's a good shot too.)

I envision an armed teacher coming upon some nut in a class room about to shoot his 18th victim, aiming at him, firing a couple of rounds and hitting him but also hitting a child. That would be the whole focus of the incident. Not that he/she very likely saved another dozen or so victims.

He/she would be roundly vilified in the media and in the court room where the law suits would follow right after the criminal trial.

And I wish each teacher in the school building was similarly trained and armed. That is how to protect the children.

And when the liberal Progressive objects you ask them...

"Are our children not worth that?"

““FAST AND FURIOUS” was a deliberate attempt by the DEMORATS as they staged and created it to decimate the support for the 2nd Amendment...”

“Actually, each should be sentenced to Death by a Firing Squad for Major Treason!”

Treason and mass murder. Over 300 Mexican citizens and two Federal agents were killed to accomplish their goal of overthrowing the 2nd Amendment.

You say that teachers should be required to qualify at a range. At what shooting distances are we talking about here? Surely, you are not talking about the usual 25 yards or more. No?

Ick. So do I. But the states attorney in Mcclean county supposedly has declared some IL gun laws unenforceable under Heller, so he won’t prosecute. Another level to the game. One can hope it suggests potential for the eventual success of cc, even here.

I’m curious about that. I had seen that elsewhere, but thought the “no guns on school grounds” law was Federal. Was I mistaken? Do you know?

Just don't dare walk across that county line into Tazewell county where I live.

I believe it came into being here in Michigan in the 90s but it can’t be federal because Rick Snyder has a bill on his desk that will permit guns on school grounds. I believe Texas is one of the states that already allows it.

The Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 is most definitely a FedMob law although the list of exceptions may cover the proposed law in MI.

Just because the FedMob declares something illegal doesn't mean the states can't or won't have laws to the contrary. I submit OR and CO marijuana laws as an example.

I must admit that I truly enjoy the increasingly rebellious states. The response from the Michigan GOP to Obama about RTW is beautiful.

December 10, 2012

Michigan Republican Party chairman Bobby Schostak issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s visit to Michigan today:

“It’s interesting that President Obama has chosen to stop in Michigan to propose his economic recovery plan of higher taxes, more spending and broken budgets. Here in Michigan we’ve seen actual economic recovery by streamlining government, cutting taxes and balancing budgets.

“The President’s divisive message and attack on Michigan workers is just another indication of how out of touch Pres. Obama has become. President Obama’s continued attempt to subvert state rights is an assult on our federal system.

“I encourage the former law professor and our current President brush up on the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, ‘The powers not delegated to the United states by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.’

“The President’s stance is a blatant attack on Michigan workers and demonstrates the President’s staunch support of special interest union bosses. Thankfully, Michigan Republican leaders are here to provide a firewall for Michigan workers and their families and to keep Michigan’s turnaround on course.”

I shouldn't be but I was amazed that 0bamugabe went to MI to demagogue a state issue. That act was one that made me sure he would demagogue gun control on the very day of the CT massacre. He did. Then again at the memorial service. He acts exactly like a two-bit third world thug. Anyway, good for the MI GOP for calling him out on it. I think I am most amazed that more people don't.

AZ is another state that has refused to be bullied.
