Columbia, S.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), who is leaving the Senate in early January to lead the Heritage Foundation, made the following statement regarding the announcement by Governor Nikki Haley (R-South Carolina) that Rep. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) would serve as his replacement.

___________________________

“Governor Haley has made a great choice for South Carolina and the nation,” said Senator DeMint. “Tim Scott is a principled leader and will make an outstanding senator for the people of the South Carolina and an important voice for conservatives across the nation. I’ve known Tim for years and am confident he will serve our state with honor and distinction. He’s become a good friend who I know he cares deeply about the future of our nation and will fight to increase freedom and opportunity for everyone. I will do everything I can over the next days and weeks to ensure the transition is smooth and that Tim has everything he needs from my office to hit the ground running. I also want to express my thanks to Governor Haley, as she went through a thoughtful and deliberative process and has again proven why she’s a trusted conservative leader for our state.”

those saying crap like that are ridiculous or liberals .

To take one action , backing ANOTHER candidate as somehow proof that negates a long record of conservatism ( as in Palin’s and Haley’s) is ridiculous. these people never stop campaigning FOR Obama by rabidly attacking ANY one with an R behind their name be it Haley, Palin, BAchmann etc.

I could care less if Palin campaigned with her. Haley has been clueless as a republican governor. She does not know how to work with other republicans in the legislature and they want her gone. She did not have the experience OR temperament for the job. Like I said she goes on a lot of vacations. My brother is a retired police chief and still has many friends in the state republican party. Like everyone else he says she is in over her head and they want her gone. Palin campaigns for who she thinks will be the best candidate, but she does not have a crystal ball. And like I said Haley jumped on the Willard Romney bandwagon instead of supporting the most conservative candidate. That alone should tell you what kind of politician she is.

Who in the world are you calling a democrat? I didn’t make Haley support Romney over Newt or Santorum. She’s an opportunist. I also listen to my brother who has lived in SC for 45 years. She’s not liked by the republican heavy hitters in the state. Here’s what she had to say before appointing anyone to DeMint’s seat. “Experience not required”. I guess that made DeMint feel real good.

Here’s an example of the way Haley operates that pisses off conservatives.

By your convoluted logic Gov Palin also is a RINO for backing McCain against JD Hayworth. Extrapolating further, Google will provide an unending list of Republicans who have supported your definitions of RINO’s. Reminds me of cannibalism.

Palin supported McCain for obvious reasons. Being conservative aint one of them.

Like I said, Haley showed her true colors by supporting the LIBERAL Romney for US president. She got handed her ass for it. Hopefully there will be no more talk of her and other opportunists like her being the NEW republican party. She needs to worry about getting reelected in a state where she likes to cozy up with liberals. South Carolinians don’t liberals.

You are correct in that Romney is a social liberal. However compared to Obama he is conservative. Romney never co-sponsored a bill which renders the abortionist not guilty for murder for killing a live born fetus during a botched abortion.

If Haley had wanted to support the most conservative she would have supported Santorum. No abortion for any reason. Abortion is murder. Any abortion. Romney was pro-abortion the majority of his political life and is the father of homosexual “marriage” in this country. I was not comparing Obama to Romney. Of course Obama is the most extreme. But without a doubt Romney was the most liberal republican candidate who was ever nominated. That’s why he lost to the communist. Millions of conservatives didn’t even bother to show up the polls because they could not bring themselves to vote for him. He was a terrible nominee.

The dire economic situation facing the country is number one issue facing the country. Just ask the millions who can not find good jobs, are working part time, working in jobs below their skill level or simply given up looking.

We currently have the lowest number of people employed in many years, perhaps decades. This country has done a terrible mistake in re-electing a president who never ran even a hot dog stand. I would rather have a president who is not my cup of tea on social issues, but has first hand experience in the real economy and dog eat dog competitive world of main street economy.

But the voters get what they deserve.

Nikki is a conservative and a tea party candidate.

What you say is ridiculous and only helps democrats/socialism/statism. Actions show who you are.
