Well I think a lot of people here would be glad if House Republicans would “prostate themselves” (i.e. discover some testicular fortitude) rather than “prostrate themselves”.

Of course, if you've lost your income, as I have, you cannot any longer play the game.

Bill collectors will come, but you have nothing to give.

Revenuers will come, but you have nothing to pay.

They can put you in jail. Then you will have no capacity to earn and they will get nothing.

Multiply by a million people and you can foresee the end result...

Actually not physically impossible, but rare and pretty much not good for anything.

“He called obama’s bluff” I agree with you there. I am not a Boo Hoo fan but trying to be fair,I think this is a wicked move. The bill will pass the house. Is’nt that what obummer wanted —”A tax on millionaires”
Anyway, it goes to the Senate. Hilarious. Now they have to amend!! and send back. Amend with what? They might try the 250 k tax and that will be filibustered real bad !! Now it’s stuck and we go over the cliff. Then we get to tax all of obama folks too !! And we get to cut spending. Look out below!! We are jumping in 13 days!!!

What’s there to negotiate about? It’s a waste of time. You cannot negotiate with Democrats who negotiate in bad faith. The Republican position should be, “We intend to avoid the fiscal cliff, but the Democrats are making it impossible to come to an agreement.”

I don’t think the WH has anything to do with Plan B. I gathered from Boehner’s press conference that this is what he wants the House of Representatives to pass so that if making a deal (Plan A) fails, the Republicans will at least have done something to protect the middle class from a tax increase. Probably a gutsy strategy. The Senate would never pass this because there are no increases in spending.

“Just pass a bill... and recess for the holidays.”

I completely agree. I don’t even know why he’s negotiating with Obama... he’s legitimizing the liberal belief that the president is the head of the legislative branch. Boehner should just tell him to get in his own sandbox... pass a bill and hand it to the senate. Period.

I don’t think he is negotiating with the kenyan anymore. 3 days until everybody leaves DC for Christmas. This is all posturing and we are going over the cliff.

Just pass a bill that cuts spending and recess for the holidays. Let the Senate and Obama deal with the aftermath.

SPOT-ON..If boehner had any self respect, which he obviously doesn’t, he should pass what the house wants and take a walk. As we say out here in flyover country, “This ain’t rocket surgery!”

Was listening, I think it was to Wilkow this AM and he said Boehner came in with Pelosi’s plan and Obama wouldn’t budge. Maybe I’m not listening well but I think that’s how I heard it. Has Obama budged at all?

Heard on radio today that Reid said he wouldn’t pass the new proposal...period.

So Republicans work to try and compromise, offer a solution, and Reid says no to every proposal.

I say, House shouls submit the proposal, put it to vote and be done with it. If it doesn’t pass in Senate, then it’s Reid’s problem. The end.
