Police find no evidence Connecticut gunman was on medication

While Newtown buried two more young victims Tuesday in the shooting massacre, authorities said they found no evidence the gunman who killed 27 people was being medicated for mental illness.

Investigators searching the Connecticut home gunman Adam Lanza shared with his mother, Nancy Lanza, seized cellphones, computers and computer games, but found nothing at the residence to indicate he was taking medication, Hearst Connecticut Newspapers reported.

Authorities armed with search warrants are still working to obtain the 20-year-old man's medical records, according to the report. Lanza's parents told friends and divorce mediators that their son had Asperger's syndrome, a form of high-functioning autism, but it was unclear if he had ever been formally diagnosed.

Then why do the drug ads warn about suicidal thoughts can be a side effect of these psychotrophic drugs?

Aspergers is not going to make him likely to kill—not at all.

It happens to be the Headline of this Thread. Back at ya: "It already has been reported that the kid was given Fanopt" Really, must not have been to loudly. What is Fanopt anyway?

Sorry abut the misspelling (and the slightly terse post). Anyway the correct spelling is Fanapt. Please see link.

Fanapt

You don't have to apoligize. We are just tossing out theories for now.

""""" I am sure that this poor mother tried everything she could and it wasn’t easy for her. And of course, dad took off."""".......

I agree, I am sure she was at her wit's end. Dad may have had another opinion on what was needed.

I'm sure he had some mental issues, just not sold on all that has been discussed on FR or the Media.

I would like to hear what the father has to tell us.

last time I was a professional driver and I was hit by a drunk driver they made me pee in a cup then they wanted a hair sample for “further testing” (they being the company and insurance company)

The drunk plowed in to the back of my PARKED truck while I was in the sleeper..

They better have tested his blood!

I am very prejudiced against the psychiatric profession and I admit it up front. I believe (I am not an expert and I've never played one on TV) that the common denominator in all these killings is the drugs.

I'll believe that until someone gives me solid evidence I'm wrong.

Well this is a checkmate: He was on Meds, he wasn't on Meds.

Oh what to believe? I speculate that too many in the Media are speculating. They all want the Pulitzer Prize Scoop, and secure it by any means necessary. Heck make it up if need be, the masses will believe anything. lol

Mark my words, tomorrow we will all hear a completely different take on this and we will all be back here picking it apart. rofl.

Personally I think FOX gets their analysis right here in FR.,

You too? nothing to be ashamed of, they are NUTS themselves.

Well maybe not really nuts as we think it. They just have a Degree that says they have the POWER to judge you insane, and don't you forget it. Time up, see ya next week, (cha ching). You do know it is not in their best interest to ever cure anyone?

yes, I want to hear from the brother as well.

Hearing what Brother and Dad have to say, may not be in the interest of the MEDIA, ya know?

They are hooked on DRUGS, GUNS and violent games, got to let that run it's course and continue with the headlines & the 30 minute interviews on TV, say another week or two. ROFL

I'm sure there is just yet one more DR. or Expert out there somewhere they have not dug up yet.

I wondered if it meant he would be unable to get a drivers license. I do not know how debilitating it is. For some reason he had his brother’s.

I do not know if the condition is commonly treated with medication, or with what medications.

They made my mom’s life miserable and therefore it affected our whole family.

My grandson was diagnosed as "autistic" as a young boy. Now, I'd think Asperbergers is more appropriate. He has never been on any medication. He has a driver's license and he's ready to graduate from college. He was popular in HS. He is too attached to his computer, but that could probably describe a lot of humans.

I have never heard him raise his voice, his mom says he's been a lot easier to raise than the two girls.

I wish they'd move on from this but I really believe the common thread is the drugs. Just stay away from the drugs--they do more harm than good but doctors don't know anything else.

If there were no drugs, we may can rule out mental illness, not that he was not evil, he was.
I have been saying on FR. I believe that Adam was just a manipulative & lazy BRAT.

Momma’s boy, and she made it so comfortable for him, he had it made.

Suddenly momma wakes up & says it’s time for you Adam to get up off your 20 year old lazy behind and get a job, get out of this house. That’s when all hell broke loose.

Up to that point little ADAM knew exactly how to play his mother, which buttons to press. She would either give him his way or buy him something. I suspect he did not want to go live with his father, couldn’t get his way there.

You are an ignorant ass.

No meds means he refused to take medications if any were ordered by his doc.

You have no idea of what this constellation of diagnosis produces.

If he has Aspbergers he is unable to feel or show empathy. More animalistic than human in that regrard. If he has a personality disorder, my guess it may be narciscim or more likely antisocial, things have to go his way or someone pays.

This stuff is come out of the egg stuff. The poor mom was trying to get guaridanship of this kid so he could be put away and medicated. Having a child like this is an ordeal no one should have to suffer. I have worked with plenty of parents and these kiddos.

Classy!

Did you miss this: """Police find no evidence Connecticut gunman was on medication""""

Found no evidence gunman was on medication. As perhaps there was none in the home, ya think??? Maybe you can tell them where to look.

Are you missing the fact also that we are all theorizing? maybe?

But, have it your way.

NOT being on your medications can make you as easily as dangerous

One has to be mentally ill to even conceive of what the bass turd did. Medications or lack thereof won't make someone a mass killer. This was premeditated. There are lunatics like this in our midst daily. The problem is, how do we as a society flesh them out and what do we do with them after they are identified?

some people may be negatively impacted by taking these drugs

What about all the mass killers that weren't on drugs? Drugs or lack thereof will not automatically turn a person into a premeditated mass killer.

I’ve known two genuinely and seriously mentally ill people in my life. You didn’t want to be around them when they were off their meds. The effects of the meds were bad enough but without them, they were truly scary. Violent, even.

If none show in a toxicology screen he’s been off them a while, too. Not going to be completely cleared from his system in a short period of time.
