A lot of people on welfare moved to SS when Bush passed the welfare to work bill. It became the freeloaders new source of income. "OW! I hurt my back!"
Today, Obomanomics forces people who can't find work (or are white men who aren't eligible for the safety net because the government union members don't like the way they vote) to find some other way to survive.

SS is the Social Security program which provides a small monthly income for Seniors.
SSI is the Supplemental Security Income program which provides a small monthly check to supposed disabled people. This program suffers from rampant corruption. The fraud is overwhelming.
