“I’m a Second Amendment supporter and that’s not going to change. There are a range of issues at play here involving mental health, school security and a culture that at times fails to reject the glorification of violence that can desensitize us to the sanctity and majesty of life. Going forward, we need to pay close attention to what the experts conclude from this incident in order to see if there are lessons to be learned and applied here in Ohio," said Kasich.

Linda Walker from the Buckeyes Firearms Association said Connecticut has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, and they failed to prevent Friday’s shooting.

“Criminals don’t pay attention to the laws,” said Walker. “If the teacher or principal in Connecticut had been armed, we wouldn’t be looking at 28 dead people today”

Walker advocates more guns in public places, like schools, would be a deterrent to violence.

Armed security is good. Heck, even non-lethal tasers and turning on firehoses in school halls would be better than the principal and school psychologist having to charge an attacker with only their bare hands and no bulletproof vests.

Fog up the hall with the fire extinguishers like troops use smoke grenades to maneuver behind cover.

Heck, a seeing eye dog would have done more against Lanza than what that school had for frontline defense of their school children.

Kasich is to be congratulated for staying the course - especially with every Liberal in the country attempting like a ghoul to generate political mileage by exploiting events in Ohio and whining for stricter laws.

Same old tired stuff from the ususal suspects:

Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown disagrees and said there should be fewer guns on the streets, not more.

“I don’t think the idea of more guns in school houses is a good thing. I think that’s a bad thing,” said Brown. “At least we need to ban assault weapons again as we did 15 years ago. There’s just not a reason why people need an automatic or semiautomatic to spray bullets like that.”

>> Armed security is good.

Some form of recourse against govt employees that refuse to aid families with troubled children should be a priority.

Each of the recent massacres have strong indicators of neglecting serious mental illness. This is where the focus needs to be.

The “range of issues” should include psychotic prescription drugs. What role did Fanapt play in this tragedy?

Now, there is a good idea you have!!!! Let's think about an elementary school board paying for a couple of guard dogs and a trainer. Is that serious or what?

Broadening the presence pf firearms in the hands of persons not prohibited is a bitter pill that irrational anti-gun supporters will eventually have to take; otherwise reason will not be restored to them through better outcomes.

Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown disagrees and said there should be fewer guns on the streets, not more.

And that is the "denial" of reality. The liberal left believes they can create some sort of artificial utopia by banning guns and creating these 'gun free zones.'

I do not understand after so mnay incidents, that people in general do not come to terms with these 'gun free zones' can be some of the most dangerous places we voluntarily put ourselves into everyday!

There was a time when children were taught about guns out on the farm. Yes, those days on the farm are gone, but the guns are not. I grew up around guns and I respect them, but don't 'fear' them like the public does today.

We're seeing a lot of over-reaction (IMHO) to this incident. Store's pulling gun off shelves, investors cashing out stock etc. This is all foolishness!

The principle, psychologist, heck even the "hero" teacher might be alive today...if they had, had a gun. That is not what they want anyone saying, but it is the cold, hard truth of the matter. Society expected these teachers to protect our children with their bare hands.

Coming to terms with the idea that we live in a gun society and even if they ban all guns...the criminals will still have them and/or find a way to exact their death on society.

The liberal prescription for home defense is to lock your doors, dial 911, and cower in a hiding place while you wait for the police to take care of the problem. That’s the same model they use for schools. Liberals have a good knack for not thinking things through very well.

No, each of the recent massacres had one thing in common that the Ministry of Propaganda is suppressing. Occupy Wall Street/anarchist connections. Look back to the mass shootings of the 30s as well. Anarchists. Beck pointed all this out many months ago. Don’t fall for the propaganda and distraction. They WANT these shootings. They NEED these shootings.

> I grew up around guns and I respect them, but don’t ‘fear’ them like the public does today.

Every liberal that I’ve come across that opposes guns will not answer one simple question - have you ever fired a gun or been trained to use one? And of course we all know why they won’t; it’s obvious they’ve never fired one or had very little experience around them.

There are millions of people in the U.S. that have used guns for over half of their lives that have never shot another person yet the media focuses on the nutcase of the year and acts like everyone with a gun is going to end up shooting someone. MSM pawns for 0 that constantly push this message. Why they do his bidding so fervishly I don’t kno unless maybe he really is the AntiChrist.

One can pick an issue at random to gauge the obtuseness of freedom/wealth-grabbing statists like Sherrod Brown. The issue of “gun control” is no exception.

It’s time to start publicly labeling these tyrants for what they are - Nazis and communists.
