Review of Benghazi attack faults ‘grossly’ inadequate security, leadership failures
Washington Post ^ | 18 December 2012 | Anne Gearan

The review of the assault on the mission in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans faulted systemic failures of leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department, according to an unclassified version posted on the department’s Web site Tuesday night.

The report also concluded that, contrary to initial reports by the Obama administration and by media outlets, there was no protest outside the outpost ahead of the attack and that the assault on the diplomatic compound and the CIA annex was carried out by terrorists.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, administration officials linked the attack to the spreading protests over an American-made, anti-Islamic film that had begun in Cairo earlier that day. Those comments came AFTER evidence already pointed to a distinct militant attack.

Update: This part was in the Washington Post story yesterday but seems to be missing in the same article today.

It is still in US News and Gaurdian

I don’t want to give WaPo any traffic.

Exactly who conducted this review?
Does it have any teeth or is this more obfuscation?

Same socialist lie: It’s everybody’s fault. Society is to blame. No one individual(s) should be blamed.

This is still a coverup. Regardless of the security failures, when the embassy breaches occurred, why was help not sent? Is is true the inner circle watched these events unfold in real time? Why send Susan Rice out to LIE about it for days after?

What we do know that if this had happened under a Republican administration, “leaders” would be brought up on charges for the coverup. Under this horsecrap admin, those people will be given better positions within the government—thhink Susan Rice.

Whitewash,no mention of ambassador Stevens being CIA,recruiting jihadists to help topple Assad in Syria with weapons from Khadafis Arsenal smuggled through Turkey.
What a joke

Thanks for the link. I’m seeing a pattern:

Fast&Furious: DOJ is implicated. DOJ conducts its own investigation.

Benghazi: State Dept is implicated. State Dept conducts its own review.
