Easier than you think...If I posted a notice here that the BATF has sent me a letter stating that several of the firearms I own are no longer legal to own and that if I do not turn them in they will come to my house to confiscate them, will you leave your job and drive to my house to help me make a stand? Not likely, instead the thread will become an argument board filled with false bravado from some and others who would criticize me. That's just the way it is.......
How many of the current members here remember Randy Weaver and Waco and how many of them came to their rescue?
Many folks here talk a big story but I'm sorry to inform you it's an "all men for themselves" mentality now since everyone has jobs and families that come first before helping some poor schlep who is under attack by the govt.......

Just how does BATF know that you have them? Because you signed a 4473 at the point of initial sale? There’s no law requiring you to report having sold or otherwise disposed of them. At least for now, got it.
They’re not registered. In order to have a registration law, there must also be a deregistration law.
This isn’t UK or Australia. Or Nazi Germany. Not yet.
What’s to stop people from reporting their guns as lost or stolen? There will be an enormous black market for weapons. Guns will be as easy to purchase as pot.
BS. After the first couple happen and it hits the internet people will stand their ground and BATF boys will start getting shot. Unless you can go to every one of the 40 million households or more that have one at the same time you won’t get it done.
If things ever go south, I'd bet the rent you'd turn on a dime.

The question is, what would you do, not some neighbor down the street...I think the answer to that is inordinately clear and I believe you're correct, you'd be real easy. An easy subject.
