One wise donor has pointed out a devils bargain that too many advocates for charities are willing to make in their campaign to protect the charitable deduction.
Kimberly O. Dennis, head of the Searle Freedom Trust skewers the illogic of groups like the Independent Sector, which explicitly endorse President Obamas lust to raise taxes on the wealthy, even as they also plead to keep the charitable deduction untouched.
If nonprofits knew what was good for them, they would be focusing less on preserving the charitable deduction and more on economic growth and wealth creation.

Yeah, they just assume a higher % of tax benefit per dollar donated. Which in their feeble minds convinces them donations will increase. Foolish assumption.
Oh, that is so true. But they won't. They don't understand that wealth must be created; not printed.
